What does one do when confronted with the need to complete time-sensitive tasks for a client while traveling, yet finds themselves in a situation where their family is asleep in the hotel room, and access to conventional working spaces, such as the hotel lobby, is restricted? In an unconventional yet practical solution, I repurposed the hotel's 24-hour gym into a temporary office space. Utilizing workout mats and a bench, I fashioned a makeshift desk. My commitment to maintaining a disciplined #workout regimen has always provided me with mental clarity and strength. Integrating this discipline into my working environment under such unique circumstances was a novel experience. This experience exemplified for me the necessity of adaptability in today's ever-changing work landscape, highlighting how, sometimes, the most unconventional settings can spur productivity. This experience not only served as a testament to the lengths we all go to meet our deadlines, but also as a reminder of the importance of maintaining physical and mental well-being, even in the most challenging of times. Thanks IHG Hotels & Resorts! What’s the most unique place YOU have worked from? #workfromhome #officespace

💼 Workforce Empowerment: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities 💼 In the past two years, the hospitality industry has faced a significant hurdle—not in attracting guests but in retaining a dedicated workforce. Many hotel groups have taken proactive steps to turn these challenges into opportunities for growth and empowerment. 🚀 Today, hotels are offering compelling benefits like free or low-cost accommodation, increased wages, and reduced peak-time working hours. These improvements not only attract new talent but also motivate existing staff to stay engaged and loyal, creating a cohesive, high-quality workforce. 🌟 Comprehensive training programs are also being introduced, empowering employees to climb the corporate ladder. Specialized training modules not only enhance skill sets but also foster personal growth and job satisfaction. 📈 Empowered employees significantly influence guest experiences, turning first-time visitors into repeat customers. A well-supported workforce can provide exceptional service, creating lasting impressions that are vital for customer retention. 😊 Moreover, happy employees help in recruiting like-minded professionals, perpetuating a cycle of excellence within the workforce. 👫 In summary, industry-wide improvements in working conditions are setting the stage for a brighter, more sustainable future. We're super proud to announce that IHG Hotels & Resorts Named to Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has been named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® 2024 List by Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine, coming in at No. 28. Earning a spot means that IHG Hotels & Resorts has surpassed rigorous benchmarks, establishing itself as one of the country’s best places to work. To determine the 100 Best Companies to Work For, Great Place To Work® analyzed the anonymous survey responses of more than half a million employees from Great Place To Work Certified™ companies with at least 1,000 workers. Companies also submitted essays describing their efforts to offer generous and innovative support for workers, which were validated against employee survey responses. Rani Hammond, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Americas, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “This ranking serves as an important benchmark as we continue to create a performance-led culture at IHG, leveraging the power of our exceptional talent to deliver on our goals and priorities as a business. I’d like to thank all our colleagues for their commitment and care and for sharing their perspectives on what makes IHG a great place to work. It is paramount to all of us as a leadership team to ensure that IHG continues to be an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive and feel welcome.” IHG’s commitment to being a top employer is evidenced by its unique culture and by the company offering a wide array of benefits in the US that support the diverse needs of each of its employees and their families. Beyond competitive pay and benefits, colleagues can also expect recognition for their hard work, a healthy working environment, and the right work-life balance. Making the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list is highly competitive. Ranking is determined by employee survey responses and more detailed essay submissions that provided greater insight into IHG’s culture. Honorees were selected based on their ability to offer positive outcomes for employees regardless of job role, race, gender, sexual orientation, work status, or other demographic identifier. Michael C. Bush, CEO, Great Place To Work, said: “It’s in times like these that the best workplaces separate themselves. In a challenging economy, many companies reduce investments in their people and scale back goals for diversity, equity, and inclusion. But these companies, the 100 Best, relentlessly pursue a better work experience for every employee, and if anything, double down on the employee experience regardless of title, tenure, gender, or ethnicity. These companies know this is how you increase performance, productivity, and your innovation velocity when your firm needs it the most.” Dieter Franke Nasser Fadly Ibrahim Nashaat

Over the past two years, the industry's biggest challenge has not been attracting customers but rather finding and retaining staff. To address this issue, many hotel groups have begun to make improvements, and there has never been a better time for newcomers to the industry to negotiate better working conditions and salaries. Today, many hotels offer their staff free or low-cost accommodation, increased wages and reduced peak-time working hours. They also invest in training programs to motivate staff and allow mobility up the corporate ladder. Empowered employees not only have a positive impact on how guests feel and their decision to become repeat guests, but also help attract other employees to build a cohesive, high-quality workforce. #hospitalityindustry #hoteljobs #workforcedevelopment #staffretention #worklifebalance #careeradvancement #hotelexperience #staffshortage #workforcecrisis #burnoutprevention #competitivewages #happyworkplace #wellbeingatwork #deliciousfood #officeeats #explore #exploremore
