Today, our CEO Jorgo Chatzimarkakis attended the third Enagás Hydrogen Day, participating in a roundtable on the #decarbonisation challenges that #Europe faces and the role of #cleanhydrogen in overcoming them. Here are some key points that emerged from the day: The already agreed legislation such as #REDIII and the #RFNBO Delegated Acts, as well as the objectives set for 2030 and beyond should remain unchanged. However, Member States have now to go through with the transposition of RED III, which will impose further obligations onto their industries, already struggling in a very competitive global environment. #H2Europe proposes the creation of lead markets for those sectors that are faced with more difficulties, namely: 🔵#refineries 🔵#steel 🔵#fertilisers 🔵#datacentres – the new kid on the block with an extensive demand of energy.   Special conditions should be created for those markets, so as to simplify #regulation and accelerate #investment into the #cleanhydrogen solutions that can suit them.   #Infrastructure remains a key enabler of #hydrogen, transporting it from where it can be produced at more competitive prices, like the Iberian peninsula, to where the hydrogen demand centres are located, such as Germany. Spain is a key country in this, pushing the #energytransition in the European context. #ElHidrógenoEsAhora #HydrogenIsNow Gobierno de España | CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency | European Commission | ENNOH | Moeve | Accelera by Cummins | BASF | thyssenkrupp Uhde | Sedigas - Asociación Española del Gas
