At Hygie Biomed, we're passionate about empowering healthcare professionals with the knowledge they need to provide the best possible care for their patients. Here are the top 3 reasons why endoscopy is an essential tool in modern medicine: - Investigation: Endoscopy helps identify the cause of abdominal pain, vomiting, stomach ulcers, breathing disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, and difficulty in swallowing. - Confirming a diagnosis: Endoscopy allows for biopsies to confirm diagnoses like cancer, ensuring accurate treatment plans. - Treatment: Endoscopy can be used to treat illnesses directly, such as cauterizing bleeding vessels or removing polyps. ❤️ Emotional Case Report that was published in the European Society of Cardiology, European Heart Journal on 18 August 2023: "Clinical considerations during spontaneous coronary artery dissection in the post-partum period: a case report." ❤️ A case of a young women presenting with chest pain in the post-partum period. Her clinical appearance was that of a myocardial infarction, and angiography was indicative of a Type 2 SCAD. The patient had persistent chest pain, reduced left ventricular function, and critical left anterior descending artery stenosis. With a single long EluNIR™ ridaforolimus drug eluting stent (Medinol, Tel Aviv, Israel, 2.75 mm diameter × 28 mm length) with a good angio-graphic result and optimal distal angiographic flow. The patient had immediate clinical improvement and was transferred for observation in the coronary care unit. Evidence-Based Guideline for Prehospital Airway Management "Second, the panel recognizes the need to optimize the patient’s physiology, specifically assuring appropriate oxygenation, ventilation, and hemodynamic status, to assure optimal airway management outcomes (Citation76). Unfortunately, attention solely on the successful placement of invasive airway devices can interfere with achieving and maintaining these goals. Proper pre-oxygenation and blood pressure support before beginning placement attempts, and achieving first-pass success, minimize physiologic disruption and adverse events (Citation41, Citation77). This concept of first-pass success without hypoxia or hypotension has been described as DASH-1A (Definitive Airway, Sans Hypoxia/Hypotension on 1st Attempt) (Citation78). It is incumbent on EMS clinicians to ensure continuous physiologic monitoring of patients throughout airway management attempts, including waveform EtCO2 to confirm successful initial and ongoing device placement and to assure efficacy of ventilation through the duration of patient care." https://lnkd.in/ggeMjt-Y

In this episode, host Dr. Michael Barraza interviews Dr. Zola N’Dandu, an interventional cardiologist at Ochsner Medical Center in Louisiana, about building a successful critical limb ischemia (CLI) program. Dr. N’Dandu discusses the evolution of CLI in the last decade and how more medications, therapies, and data are now available to support patient care. Advancements such as radial-to-pedal, 3rd and 4th-generation stents, proliferative therapy with stents, drug-coated balloons, and bio-absorbable stents all contribute to redefining the CLI treatment algorithm. Dr. N’Dandu emphasizes that our treatment of no-option-CLI patients needs to change. One of the treatments that he uses for these patients is deep vein arterialization, a technique that was first discovered in 1912 but still has more potential for growth.
