🚀 KEY MILESTONE ! We have successfully completed the first full commissioning run with our in-house industrial scale unit, producing our largest batch of mesoporized zeolite ever. This run confirms the installation's capability to smoothly execute our finetuned recipe needed to modify our reference zeolite. All associated targets were met, including process timings, required flows, temperatures, quality homogeneity and the unit's ease of handling. Next phase is to replicate this chemical process a few times to demonstrate reproducibility of our technology on a ton scale, define standard operational procedures for maximised output, and validate customer specification requirements. Zeopore’s industrial unit will then be ready to move to customer order fulfilment, also serving as our workhorse for final process optimisation and quality management. Our end products will benefit refining and petrochemical companies, as well as those involved in catalytic renewable processes, by making their operations more efficient, economical, and sustainable. Origin story: This isn’t magic, it’s science. Our journey started in 2018 on a dark and rainy evening in Berlin when Matti Malkamäki attended Germany’s Natural Gas Association’s annual meeting. There, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) won an award for their methane pyrolysis study. Intrigued, Matti downloaded a few articles for future reading. Months later, forced to stay inside on a rainy Finnish summer day, he rediscovered these articles and saw potential. Matti, an experienced clean tech entrepreneur, reached out to Laura Rahikka, an accomplished lecturer in process engineering. Laura confirmed that Professor Ulla Lassi from the University of Oulu already had expertise that could be of use in commercializing methane-splitting. Excited to start developing a new methane-splitting technology, Laura contacted Niina Grönqvist, an experienced multi-talent in chemical engineering and chemistry. With the help of Ulla Lassi’s research, Matti, Laura and Niina decided to start a company. In 2020, inspired by Donald Duck’s “The Mad Chemist” story, Hycamite was born. The name combines “hydrogen” and “carbon” to reflect our mission. Hycamite’s story is a testament to the organic blend of intellect and innovation, crafting a future where research and knowledge drive new sustainable solutions. We invite the world to join us on this transformative journey, where we make the impossible possible. On Thursday, September 5th, we celebrated the official inauguration of Hycamite’s new Customer Sample Facility (CSF), a plant that will produce up to 2,000 tons of low-carbon hydrogen and 6,000 tons of high-value carbon annually. The CSF's decarbonization capacity is up to 18,000 tons of CO2 annually. This plant is the first of many around the globe. And we are only getting started. #hycamite #ourjourney #cleanhydrogen #highqualitycarbon #decarbonizingindustry #customersamplefacility

🌍 SOMMER 12-Month Consortium Meeting 🌟 On 28–29 November 2024, the SOMMER project team gathered at hte GmbH in Heidelberg, Germany, for the 12-Month Consortium Meeting. This milestone event brought together the consortium members to review progress, share insights, and map out the next steps for advancing the membrane technology for sustainable syngas production. ☀️ Our innovative approach uses concentrated sunlight to drive CO2 and H2O conversion at temperatures below 1,500°C. This enables the efficient transformation of unavoidable CO2 emissions into valuable chemical raw materials. A big thank you to the hte team for being such great hosts—it was truly appreciated! Another big thank you goes to all participants for their contributions and commitment to this project. Together, we’re forging a path toward a CO2 circular economy.🌿 DLR Institut für Future Fuels, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya), hte GmbH, CSIC, Morgan Advanced Materials Haldenwanger GmbH, TITAN Cement Group, BASF #Sustainability #Innovation #Syngas #CircularEconomy #CleanTech #FundedbyEU
