https://lnkd.in/d74dDgCS Things to do to take marine sustainability seriousley. 1. Reduce single-use plastics: Avoid using single-use plastics like straws, bags, and water bottles. Instead, opt for reusable alternatives. 2. Support sustainable seafood: Choose seafood that is sustainably sourced and harvested. Look for certifications such as the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) or the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC). 3. Practice responsible boating: Follow boating regulations and be cautious about any potential harm to marine life, such as avoiding sensitive areas, keeping a safe distance from marine mammals, and properly disposing of any waste. 4. Conserve water: Reducing your water consumption helps to conserve freshwater resources, which are interconnected with marine ecosystems. Take shorter showers, fix any leaks, and collect rainwater if possible. 5. Participate in beach clean-ups: Organize or join beach clean-up events to remove litter and debris from the shoreline. This helps to prevent pollution and protects marine life from ingesting or getting tangled in waste. 6. Support sustainable tourism: Choose eco-friendly and responsible tour operators who prioritize conservation and minimize their impact on marine ecosystems. 7. Educate yourself and others: Stay informed about the issues affecting marine sustainability, such as overfishing, pollution, and climate change. Share your knowledge with others to raise awareness and promote positive change. 8. Advocate for marine protection: Support organizations and campaigns that work towards marine conservation and protection. Write to your local representatives or sign petitions to encourage policies that prioritize marine sustainability. 9. Reduce carbon footprint: Make efforts to reduce your carbon footprint by using public transportation, walking, or biking instead of driving, and using energy-efficient appliances and renewable energy sources. 10. Support organizations working towards marine sustainability: Donate or volunteer with organizations that focus on marine conservation and sustainability. Your contributions can help fund research, conservation efforts, and education programs. Arivo.online

🗑️ Dumpster Diving and Waste Wednesday: A Journey in Sustainability 🗑️ Back in my Air Force days, security was everything. I vividly remember being on a deployment and watching teams of Airmen dive into dumpsters to ensure no personally identifiable information was left behind. The catch? If they found your name, guess who’d be on dumpster duty next? 😅 Needless to say, I was meticulous with my shredding. Fast forward to today, while my dumpster-diving days are over (thankfully!), my focus has shifted to sustainability. In fact, I have my own little Waste Wednesday routine. Every week, I gather the mountain of junk mail—ads, solicitations, campaign flyers—and shred anything with personal info, while the rest goes into the recycling bin. Sure, I get to enjoy some game shows while I do it (hello, Let’s Make a Deal!), but I’m also left thinking about all the paper waste we produce. Now, I consider waste not just from a security standpoint, but from an environmental one. Reducing paper waste cuts down on those pesky Scope 3 emissions—things we often don’t see but that have a real impact on our planet in the long run. None of us want to go dumpster diving—this time, for the planet’s sake! 🏡🌎 So, as I roll in my recycle bin and head to the mailbox today, I know I'll be adding a few more pieces to the bin for next Waste Wednesday. Reducing waste is a conscious decision—whether at home or at work. Let’s be mindful of our waste and take action where we can. #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #WasteReduction #Scope3Emissions #Recycling #GreenLiving #EnvironmentallyConscious #ClimateAction #BusinessGrowth #CPoweredConsulting #WasteWednesday #PersonalGrowth #SaveThePlanet #Scope3Emissions

My Mission: making Landfill & Wastewater operations better 🌍 | Unbiased Landfill, Leachate, PFAS & WasteWater Treatment + Odor, De-Scaling & clogging soln's | Me = Develop Companies That Do Good | Solid Human
Say it ain't so. After a 29 year hiatus from large mountains I hit the slopes last week in Lake Tahoe. It was epic. Insert inspirational story here. (there actually is one funny enough) Today however an article that a familiar foe seems to have infiltrated that beautiful sport and unbelievable scenery. #pfas. ugh. Can't seem to escape it. Food packaging, contacts, makeup, ski wax, water bottles... The list of Pfas laden products seems near endless. And it all ends up in a very familiar place I deal with every day; the landfill. It's not fair that landfills have the burden of dealing with it on there own. But it's got to be done. It's a huge undertaking and massively important. The Good news; our little company is on the good side of the battle. We've been working hard on finding solutions since we learned the seriousness to our drinking water 5 years ago. We did good. At Leachate Management Specialists we work really hard to find the very best solutions for the industry we call home and we do it unbiased. It's about the best long term solution to protect something very important; human drinking water. Because things are bad. Feel free to join us tomorrow February 15th at 11am eastern for a webinar on an evaluation of numerous data points on the best solutions for landfill leachate. Lingke Zeng and Pat Stanford will be joining myself and Brad Granley, P.E. for a presentation, regulatory update and Q&A about what we've learned. If you're on the front line of this battle and still unsure about what's what, this #webinar might be a good one for you. The link is in my post feed and also on the Leachate Management Specialists posts feed. https://lnkd.in/gZr2mCGc Hope to see you there. And check your ski wax. 🎿 I will be. #pfas #landfills #epa #solidwaste #leachate

This first-of-its-kind, independent and peer-reviewed research resulted in the most comprehensive lifecycle assessment ever conducted on recreational vessel usage and emissions reduction. While recreational boats account for less than 0.1% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the research revealed there is no one-size-fits-all solution and a portfolio of propulsion technologies are needed to further decarbonize, from #sustainable marine fuels to #hydrogenfuel to #electricandhybridvehicles.
