🌍 #WRLDCTY | Session of the Day: Uncertainty is a Feature, Not a Bug | Daria (Dasha) Krivonos
Check out the session for free until Oct. 31: https://lnkd.in/e-3YjGyd
Dasha Krivonos’ keynote explored the critical role of uncertainty in urban planning. Rather than succumbing to inaction, she encouraged leaders to embrace uncertain times as moments ripe for transformative action. Krivonos urged the audience to challenge entrenched assumptions about the future and take calculated risks that could lead to groundbreaking urban solutions. “Failure of imagination is a crisis,” she warned, highlighting the importance of rethinking the future in a way that aligns with the dynamic, interconnected world of the 21st century.

🌍 #WRLDCTY | Session of the Day: Wellbeing By Design | Antonio Gomez-Palacio
Check out the session for free until Oct. 31: https://lnkd.in/e-3YjGyd
Antonio addressed the urgent need to rethink urban planning through the lens of community health and wellbeing. His presentation was a call to shift away from reactive, outdated metrics of success like units built or passengers moved. Instead, Antonio shared insights from the Community Wellbeing Framework—a research-driven model for designing cities that foster holistic health, public wellness, and environmental resilience. With 96% of urban planning being reactive, he made a compelling case for integrating preventative design into city-building strategies to combat the social, economic, and environmental crises plaguing our cities.

My inspiration for this inaugural event came from my deep connection to professional sports and the respect I hold for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which honors NFL athletes for their excellence both on the field and in their communities. In the same spirit, the CHANGE AGENTS OF PHOENIX event was created to celebrate real estate professionals who excel in their field while also making a lasting impact beyond their transactions.
In real estate, where authenticity is key, I believe greatness extends far beyond exceptional performance in transactions. True greatness enriches an agent’s work and purpose—it embodies the ability to think beyond individual deals, to give back, and to positively influence the communities that support them. My mission is to elevate real estate and showcase how the industry, through its unique relationship capital, can serve at a much greater capacity—transforming lives and communities through our everyday business responsibilities.
A select few outstanding local agents, nominated and voted on by my event partners and industry peers, have been named this year’s CHANGE AGENTS for exemplifying these core values:
- Create Impact Beyond Transactions: Using their success to drive positive change.
- Embody Core Values: Integrity, purpose-driven action, and collaboration.
- Lead with Inspiration:Their stories inspire meaningful service.
- Serve the Phoenix Metro: Dedicated to improving their local communities.
- Engage Online: Amplifying their impact through a strong online presence.
Their stories are inspiring, and we can’t wait to walk alongside them and honor their dedication and lasting contributions.
Next month’s event will be an exclusive, private gathering held at a custom spec home still under construction, thoughtfully planned in partnership with my builder partner Living Stone Builders and Brian North of North&Co. This intimate setting will provide the perfect backdrop to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our honorees and the genesis of what’s to come.

What an extraordinary day of firsts it turned out to be.
I’m immensely proud to have continued the judging process for the new Trailblazer Award today, alongside my fellow judges Hollie Whittles from Purple Frog Systems Ltd and Michael Wright from Aico, for the upcoming #SBAwards, put on by Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.
We encountered four remarkable businesses, each surpassing expectations and embodying the essence of the award. Their distinctive attributes truly set them apart. It was great to discover that three out of the four finalists were situated within 2 miles of each other, with some even collaborating.
Among the highlights of the day were, throwback to some vintage tech from Preloved Tech Ltd and their links to Icehocky, exploring exiting new premises at Exascale and moving a cherry picker for a picture, to testing equipment and implementing barcoding for product traceability at CEL Group and finally, experiencing a live demonstration of stud seaman harvesting at Stallion AI Services……Yes, you read that correctly – it certainly made for an eventful day!
A common thread among all four finalists was their passion. This contributed to the diligent deliberation and number-crunching that followed. Each participant has already become a winner by making it this far.
My key takeaway? Let’s take pride in being part of Shropshire and cherish the incredible businesses that call it home.

#Team#culture is a fundamental principle for team success. If left to develop on its own, the outcome will result in a mixed bag of results. Build the team through intentional engagement and the successes will come more frequently.

🌍 #WRLDCTY | Session of the Day: Convivencia | Tommi Laitio
Check out the session for free until Oct. 31: https://lnkd.in/e-3YjGyd
Urban strategist Tommi Laitio delivered a thought-provoking session on the value of friction in public spaces. Drawing on examples from Finland and Canada, Laitio introduced the concept of “convivencia”—the productive space between harmony and conflict where differences are embraced, not erased. He warned that efforts to eliminate friction in public places risk making cities exclusive rather than inclusive. Instead, Laitio called for urban leaders to accept that public life is inherently messy and that this “messiness” is key to fostering vibrant, inclusive urban environments.
