Earlier this year, the SEC began warning publicly traded companies against the risk of “AI-washing” — that is, making misleading statements to investors about how well the company manages its use of artificial intelligence. In this article, we explain: 🤖 What AI-washing is 3️⃣ The 3 fundamentals of AI oversight ...and more! Continue reading: https://okt.to/PI1dNt #ai #aiwashing #airisk #compliance #cybersecurity

Last year I was asked to contribute to Baton Rouge Bar Association magazine as part of their issue on #AI. While there were several folks including R. Andrew Patty II, Max C. Marx, and my friend John Fenner (all of which are far more qualified than I on the topic) who also contributed, one key element I noticed that missing from the analysis was cybersecurity. Put another way, with all the talk about how lawyers will use what data they have to inform AI models that drive efficiency, there's not a lot of thought being put into how law firms will ensure that data is secure. This is an area of weakness that General Informatics is highly aware of and is what drives most of the conversations that I'm having with law firms about implementing AI toolsets. It seems that everyone knows they need to leverage the data they have... so let my team make sure that data is protected! Check out my article on p. 24! #CyberSecurity #ManagedIT #LawFirms #AI

Thanks to NIST, the NIST AI 600-1 framework was an urgent need to tackle the emerging threats of Gen AI, where Gen AI is stepping into every corner of businesses and organisations. There are many potential risks associated with Generative AI, such as misuse for creating misleading content or deepfakes, privacy concerns, and unintended consequences. It has robust testing procedures, ethical guidelines, transparency measures, and mechanisms for accountability. Organisations should endeavour to adapt the framework to keep pace with technological advancements and emerging risks. I love it when a plan comes together. With so many Netskope customers now using our tech to secure their organisation's use of generative AI, it is great to be able to get our own EMEA CISO, Neil Thacker, out talking about what we know. He's in The Times twice today in their AI For Business supplement; 1. First up he's discussing how important it is to have security tools that hold the hand of employees as they embrace genAI, ensuring them the support they need to protect data and comply with security policy. 2. In the second piece he is giving his verdict on the EU's AI Act - why its good and what needs to happen next. Both pieces make great reads, and you can dodge the Times paywall to read the first here: https://lnkd.in/e4HiYiKd (and I believe I will be able to assist similarly with the second in a few days time too). Or you can nip out and bag yourself a copy of the paper to read while you eat your elevensies Wagon Wheel... like I did; if that's not too old skool.
