🌷I always get asked how I stay #consistent with my workouts. What really helped me to build consistency was changing my belief that a workout only "counts" if it is 1 hour long and you are red faced, sweaty and completely exhausted ! This happened when I finally discovered I needed more YIN style movement in my life (my favourites are pilates, hot vinyasa yoga and a good mobility session). As switching off the adrenaline and cortisol fuelled workouts mean't I was not continually sore (and as science says it actually helps you to get into a better #fatburning state) From there more consistency was created and has been sustained. I also focus on the #quality of the movement rather than the quantity. Plus tune into the energy levels I have that day ...which also might mean I need to clear my head with swimming or a walk in nature. Or if I am energised I will throw around some Kettlebells and do a HIIT workout ! Variety is also the key to consistency. As my client Clare always says...."I don't think we have ever repeated the same workout. You always mix it up." There are no set rules and it doesn't need to be complicated. I also LOVE exercise to music it keeps me motivated...as who doesn't love moving to a good tune ?
