NCC and LKAB in strategic collaboration to build in Malmfälten. Today NCC and LKAB announced a long-term strategic collaboration. It includes a letter of intent covering planned construction projects for fossil-free sponge-iron production in Malmfälten in northern Sweden. The first project is the planned construction of a direct reduction plant in Gällivare. Work has already begun. The pace of investment and planned construction in the northern part of Sweden is staggering. It will require close collaboration and new skills and ways of working. This agreement is intended to ensure that we can develop the projects together and capture all learnings from project to project. NCC launched a new business area – NCC Green Industry Transformation – in January. We are pulling together expertise and experience from within NCC and externally. This is the first major collaboration contract. We look forward to an exciting time together with LKAB and other customers to use our construction expertise in the realization of a fossil-free future. #nccab
