When did we Germans become such pussys, collectively? From a recent project: let’s launch this new service in Germany. German Head of Sales: no, we can’t, we have these and those problems with our dealers and can’t risk to annoy them more. Fallback: let’s launch in Netherlands. Dutch Head of Sales: yeah, we have the same problems as the Germans, but it’s a fantastic opportunity to go to market together and learn something that will benefit everybody, also our dealers! 🤯 How can the same situation be perceived so differently? When did we Germans - collectively - decide to become pussys and never risk anything anymore? And how can we break this vicious cycle? How can we excite people for change, for risk-taking and ultimately for an even better future?

The most under-used tool in B2B marketing? The letter from the CEO. Lots of reasons it works well, but this might be the most important one: People will read it! They want to know what the person leading your company is thinking, seeing, and feeling. So tell them. ✅ Zoom in on an emerging trend. ✅ Share some stories from behind the scenes. ✅ Talk about what's coming next from your product. ✅ Summarize a little of "why we're doing this thing we're doing." (Hint: This works especially well after a "big deal" event like a tradeshow, product launch, or listening tour with customers.) A play I run with all of our portfolio companies. And one that more marketing leaders + CEOs should think about giving a shot. Good stuff from Jon Meachin and the Fleetio team. 👍

And we love the short holiday trips we take with our caravan on the weekends.” 2. Do you have a hidden talent? “Hidden talent? I'm still looking - maybe I'll find one in the future!” 3. What is the best thing about working at Industrilas? “The family connections with all employees. Whether you are working in management, administration, logistics or production, we all treat each other with respect and fairness.” 4. Which is your favourite Industrilas product? “The Klima-Flex Latch Hinge. With this you can close a climate cabinet, but also open it if necessary without having to disassemble the door. It’s two products in one and I find this very innovative!” 5. How does Industrilas Germany distinguish itself from the competitors in the country? “We can act much faster on, for example, inquiries than the competition and we are not as sluggish in the process as others. Short distances in the group of companies = fast final decisions.” 6. And finally: do you take “fika breaks” in Germany? “In some circles of colleagues, the fika culture is already present on occasion.. However, we will have to integrate this ritual even more into the circle of colleagues in the future.”😃🧁

I had an uncomfortable win this year that I share in this article from my Mauve team 🏆🏆 My professional win for the year was learning of my ADHD, how to work with it. It was quite a painful process to realise the reason I had gone through many burnout cycles in my early career was due to ADHD. And that what works easily for focus and executive function for my peers likely won't work for me. The good news? When I began the process of learning my brain function, and how to understand the neuro science behind it with Ange Nennie - I was able to set up new strategies and self compassion for my unique brain function. And there have been heaps of learnings and I am only one year in. Which would likely help anyone on the ADHD spectrum. Learnings for the neuro divergent follks that I learnt this year: 1. Gamifying admin tasks is a secret weapon for me, and tracking my best times helps see the progression (yes I am an excel spreadsheet nerd with this). 2. Meditation and exercise helps big time. Doing a 75 Hard Challenge (my own softer version) helped my crack into consistency here with friends. Recommend! 3. L-theanine with limited caffeine intake is a winning combination. 4. What works for me one week will likely not work forever. This is classic ADHD function. 5. Eating protein with every meal is a game changer for focus. 6. Having self compassion for when my executive function won't take off is essential. 7. Most people think we are all a little ADHD in modern society, and yes many have some symptoms. But the big difference is how much your struggle impacts your mental health to meet a diagnosis. 8. Learning my values and how to integrate them into my day is huge. 10/10 recommend. One year on from joining the Mauve team - and I am very grateful to work with a group of humans that have a culture of celebration and putting people first!
