Hey Jim Farley & Ford Motor Company - how about teaching your dealers how to lease before rolling out a lease program they don’t know how to execute. “Lessee has option to purchase vehicle at lease end at price negotiated with dealer at signing” How many SoCal Ford dealers are willing to negotiate the lease end buy out price: 0. Either get rid of the language or equip your dealers on how to sell!!!

⚡️ One of the objectives for this year is to bridge gaps and bring us closer together.
⚡️ Meet Pavel, the truck driver brimming with energy and enthusiasm. Pavel is responsible for the critical final stretch of a lengthy cargo route starting from the Far Eastern ports, crossing the Trans-Siberian Railway, and then via the ferry line. Each day, Pavel drives his container truck from the terminal to the premises of a major automotive assembly plant. These containers carry vital components like engines, gearboxes, and suspension parts – the lifeblood of vehicle manufacturing.
🌲This is a glimpse into how heavy truck transport contributes to the manufacturing of passenger cars.

The journey of innovation often takes unexpected and peculiar routes, sometimes resulting in notable failures. The 1960 General Motors Vert-A-Pac attempt is a prime example. This incident underscores the trial-and-error approach, a core problem-solving method that involves making repeated, varied attempts until achieving success or deciding to cease efforts.

In the 1960's General Motors was trying to get the freight cost down on Vegas to keep them a budget friendly car. At the time, a new Vega had a price tag around $2,000. Engineers from GM and Southern Pacific Railroad came up with the Vert-A-Pac. This allowed 30 cars to be shipped per boxcar instead of 18. Lowering freight costs by up to 40%. GM engineers also designed specific oil baffles to keep oil from spilling along with specially designed carburetors, batteries and added plastic spacers between the powertrain and the chassis to prevent damage. Pretty wild

I am reading this post and it brings thoughts to mind. We have to push ourselves to think beyond our own internal barriers. To do that, we have to set aside our biases, preconceived ideas, and often our own ego, thinking that we should know the solution without even analyzing the issue. This solution was probably cutting edge for that time. It may not be practical today, but the lesson still is. Look beyond the way we normally solve issues. People are wonderful creatures. We are inquisitive and curious. Be creative, insightful, and analytical in problem solving. Doing this changes the landscape and this changes the problem. The best solutions resolve issues for the very last time. Once you achieve problem resolution properly, that problem will never surface again. It may take a different form or affect something slightly different, but that is a different problem. Problems are not “one solution fits all.” so we need to stop resolving issues the same way every time.
