Does having orgasms frequently increase life span? Studies suggest that regular sexual activity, including orgasms, can be associated with various health benefits that might contribute to overall well-being and potentially a longer life. Benefits often attributed to frequent orgasms or sexual activity include: 1. Cardiovascular health: Sexual activity can be a form of exercise, which helps keep the heart healthy. 2. Mental health: Orgasms trigger the release of endorphins and oxytocin, reducing stress and promoting better mood. 3. Immune function: Some studies suggest that regular sexual activity can boost the immune system. 4. Lowered risk of certain diseases: Regular orgasms may help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men, and contribute to better sleep. For instance, a study published in 1997 found that men who had more frequent orgasms (about 2 or more per week) had a lower risk of mortality compared to those who had fewer orgasms. But it's difficult to quantify this in terms of specific extra years of life. Of course, genetics and lifestyle play a factor in this.
