Fresh graduates actually have the easiest career transition. Your educational background serves as a clear indicator of potential for employment. Employers typically align job opportunities with your fields of study, making the job matching process straightforward. The most challenging career transition occurs during mid-career, typically between 5 to 15 years of experience. Switching to a new career field or advancing to higher roles becomes more complex due to limited opportunities. This often requires a deeper understanding of your current competencies and the need to acquire new skills or reskill. Higher expectations for performance and salary make these transitions more competitive. Once you reach 15 or more years of experience, it’s time to specialize. By now, you should know your area of expertise - focus on roles that align with it. The next 20–30 years of your career will depend on how you build your reputation and stay relevant. Career pathing evolves with experience, but preparation and self-awareness can make the process smoother. Join my Career Bootcamp to explore more on career pathing here: https://lnkd.in/genkFt_n
