From Ørnhøj to the World 🛠 Did you know the story of I-Wood Denmark® begins in the western Jutland town of Ørnhøj, with three local enthusiasts passionate about innovation, sustainability, and creating products that make a difference? Their idea was to develop a stronger and better solution for ceiling and wall panels to improve acoustics and ease installation. They succeeded – and those solutions are still produced at the factory in Denmark. Read the full story at https://lnkd.in/daZuc_x6

🌍 Day 6 of our sustainability delegation to Copenhagen: day trip to Malmo, Sweden. Today, we ventured across the Øresund Bridge to discover the sustainability initiatives of one of Sweden’s leading sustainability cities. From smart energy grids to innovative materials, our day was packed with inspiring visits and engaging conversations. We kicked off the day with a presentation from E.ON about smart energy grids. Through advanced grid technologies, automation, and digital solutions, EON optimizes energy efficiency, empowers consumers, and paves the way for a sustainable energy future.⚡️ Next, Varvsstaden welcomed us to explore their cutting-edge "Material Bank," a dynamic database showcasing the site's materials while highlighting the environmental benefits of recycling and reuse. In the quest for circular construction, Varvsstaden identified the treasure trove within existing buildings, paving the way for large-scale recycling initiatives. They shared insights into the meticulous process of inventorying, dismantling, and storing materials, ensuring every step towards sustainability is transparent and accessible. 🏛 Hearing from Lazar Rajovic about the city’s internal circular economy building initiatives was very inspiring. They have an impressive system to catalog reusable materials from buildings across their real estate portfolio and utilize an online marketplace and multiple warehouse to internally reuse and publicly sell materials. The results are sizable GHG reduction and cost savings versus purchasing virgin materials. Every major city should be doing this. 🏗 At Malmö Citadellsgymnasium, we glimpsed the future of sustainable education. This newly established school offers students the chance to shape a greener tomorrow while building traditions that stand the test of time. Brinks and other materials were reused in the construction. 🏫 Our visit to Form/Design Center was an incredibly experience. Form/Design Center is the leading platform for architecture, design, and crafts in southern Sweden. Designated by the government as a national node for designing living environments, sustainability is built into the core of much of their existing work. We received a wonderful presentation from the Director, Dorte Bo Bojesen, and a great tour of some of the current exhibits, including "Planetary Boundaries" from the Royal Danish Academy. If you're feeling FOMO, there's still time to apply for our next delegation to Munich this October. Apply today! 😀 https://lnkd.in/gtA6KpyZ 🌟 #Malmo #UrbanSustainability #Delegation #CircularEconomy

RETROFITTING - The Lombardsbrücke Project in Hamburg, Germany, is a shining example of sustainable innovation. By retrofitting the historic candelabras with Tritec Ambiance retrofit kits, we maintained the iconic and historic appearance of the city while significantly reducing operating costs and energy use. This project demonstrates how cities can honor their past while embracing a sustainable future. Innovation doesn’t have to disrupt tradition—it can enhance it. Find out more https://lnkd.in/dFhtYxr8

The first DeCo Round Table discussion took place today! The topic was sustainable design for business and it was introduced by Jussi Korhonen from Arctic Factory | Palvelumuotoilu. We discussed the challenges, cooperation and opportunities there are in sustainable business around Europe. We noticed that there are similar problems as well as opportunities for change everywhere. The most important takeaway: We are not alone in this. Cooperation, discussion and sharing can make all the difference. This is a good start. DeCo – Design Collaboration for Sustainable Business – is an Interreg Europe project which aims at improving local, regional and national development policies in sustainable and circular design, production and manufacturing. This is achieved through the exchange of experience, innovative approaches and capacity building. Lead Prtner: LAB University of Applied Sciences Project partners: Päijät-Hämeen liitto, Public Institution for the Development of the Međimurje County REDEA, Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia, International Hellenic University, The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Spain, Podkarpackie Centrum Innowacji, Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre Ostrava, Wallonie Design, Design Forum Finland #interregeurope #designcollaboration

CTP adds 8.5 hectares to CTPark Warsaw West, further positioning the park to be a major industrial and logistics hub for CEE 📍🗺️ Bogi Gabrovic, CTP Poland's Director of Client Relations & Corporate Affairs explains: 💬 "CTPark Warsaw West is our largest investment in our Polish portfolio, and thanks to the acquisition of further land we will ultimately enlarge it to 279,000 sqm. The aim of the park expansion is to create a true business hub. This location has the potential to become a centre of cooperation and know-how exchange for companies from various sectors: 3PL, automotive, industry, trade or logistics. This will be fostered by the project to build the Central Communication Port, which is a transport hub for air, rail and road traffic." Why is this park ideally positioned to be an industrial and logistics hub for #CEE? 🤔 Warsaw has garnered some of Europe's strongest economic growth due to its favourable enviroment for business, including skilled employees, competitive operational costs, and investment-friendly policies. 📈 This park is lcoated on a national highway just 50 km from the Polish capital which further connects to Poznań (260 km) and Berlin (500 km). Furthermore, it is close to the Central Communication Port, a megaproject that integrates air, rail and road transport, about 40 km southwest of Warsaw. 🛣️ Best of all, we already have excellent momentum. Currently there is more than 110,000 sqm of logistics floorspace under construction and the international 3PL Raben has already signed for 114,000 sqm Learn more about the region in our CEE research report paper: https://lnkd.in/dhuu4znD Learn more about this park: https://lnkd.in/e99qgdQD Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/eJv_k8xD #GrowWithCTP #InvestInPoland #FutureOfIndustry #ByCTP
