Vice President, E&P Communications at TotalEnergies

@TotalEnergies and its partner @Petrobras have kicked off 2024 in style. Our latest FPSO, Mero2, started production on January 1st, using innovative #technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Mero is a hydrocarbon field located on the Libra block, part of the deep #offshore pre-salt region in #Brazil. Using pioneering technology, this pilot unit will separate oil from CO2-rich gas at the bottom of the ocean, enabling the gas to be reinjected directly into the reservoir.  This new offshore asset reduces the volume of gas sent to the surface, thereby reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions and also increasing the field production capacity. It’s a very concrete illustration of our "More energy, less emissions" strategy.  In addition to the immediate benefits for operations in #Brazil, this new technology should find applications for other projects across #TotalEnergies.
