Invaluable insight from excellent speakers and, frankly, some warnings for Life Sciences companies yesterday at The Scotsman’s Life Sciences conference which, as always, was a privilege for me to host and chair. Key take home: If you want to be in the pharmaceutical and healthcare supply chain in the next 5+ years, you’re going to need to know your carbon footprint. That’s because the NetZero goals of the NHS and Pharmaceutical companies such as AZ have a direct impact on their suppliers. …because the majority of their carbon footprint comes from Scope 3 - their supply chain. But it’s ok!… The starting point is to simply start “book keeping” your own Carbon footprint. And if you get on that front foot, you’ll find yourselves a preferred supplier. And, we heard from the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult session how much of an impact digitalisation can have on efficiencies and competitive edge.
