Mark Daigneault started as a student manager at UConn.
He worked as an assistant at Holy Cross, then at Florida under Billy Donovan.
OKC's G League team hired him, then he took over the Thunder in the midst of a rebuild.
Now, Daigneault is the 2024 NBA Coach of the Year.

Each military institution throughout the world was derived from hordes.
Each sports franchise in existence since 1919 including the USOC and the NCAA were derived from hordes.
Each enterprise that has ever existed were derived from hordes.
Little League and Junior League baseball leagues throughout the world are held in trust by the NCAA. So, too, are Junior League softball leagues, Junior League soccer, football, and rugby teams, Junior League basketball teams, and Cornhole Leagues. Freestyle Basketball Leagues are held in trust by the NBA, Junior League Hockey teams are held in trust by the NCAA, Junior League golf programs are held in trust by the PGA, and Junior League Racing Circuits are held in trust by the NFL.
Corporations, credit unions, and brokerage firms were born of enterprises. So, too, were guilds, unions, and professional associations. Hospitals and universities were conceived through guilds.
Sons and daughters of Christendom would be wise to abandon institutions derrived from hordes altogether.
"Unearth temples created by hordes."

Today I discuss the 6 things which helped me transition to different football programs in in the player development.

The first 12-team College Football Playoff is almost here, and there is already a lot of controversy! Strength of schedule over record? Best teams over most deserving? Right now, I’d say there are 4 legit Big Ten teams in the mix, but the SEC, you could easily make the case for 6 SEC teams being playoff-bound, based on the strength of their schedules.
Who really wants to play in the SEC Championship Game? It’s an extra game, with more wear and tear and the risk of dropping a third game and missing the playoff. The runner-up deserves an automatic bid, given how tough the conference is this year.
With the playoff probably expanding to 14 teams in 2026, I think this will happen eventually.

Bill Belichick is heading to UNC Football—and the NIL impact could be MASSIVE. 🏈 💼
UNC’s hiring of NFL legend Bill Belichick is already drawing comparisons to Deion Sanders’ transformative effect at Colorado, where media attention, player recruitment, and NIL opportunities skyrocketed.
💡 Why It Matters?
- 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐈𝐋 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬: Belichick’s presence boosts UNC’s national profile, attracting brands, recruits, and sponsorship dollars.
- 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐭: Increased visibility will mean higher marketability for UNC athletes.
- 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: UNC’s NIL budget could see significant growth, following Colorado’s example of turning momentum into real NIL success.
Could UNC be the next Colorado? Time will tell, but one thing's clear—Belichick brings big expectations and even bigger opportunities.
What do you think—will Belichick have a “Coach Prime” effect? 👇

How do you let your big wins and losses define you?
Every now and then, a game - or a critical moment - comes along that forces us to choose how we respond. For Notre Dame football, their 16-14 upset by Northern Illinois earlier this season was exactly that.
For Notre Dame, it was a gut check. Their only loss of the season could have derailed everything, but instead, they regrouped, stayed focused, and turned that setback into momentum - earning their way to the national championship game, happening next week.
For Northern Illinois, a mid-major underdog, it was a "Boneyard" victory - a term they use for wins against Power Five programs. Their first-ever win over a top-5 opponent became a defining triumph in the program’s history. But what stuck with me most was what happened after the game: instead of “planting the flag,” NIU's Coach Hammock called Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman - not to gloat, but to offer advice and connect. In that moment, competitors became collaborators, demonstrating a rare and impactful display of sportsmanship and leadership.
In business and life, both surprising setbacks and unexcepted wins are inevitable. What defines us isn’t the loss or win, but how we choose to respond. Do we dig deeper, find ways to improve, and push forward like Notre Dame? Do we celebrate the victory, like NIU, with humility and grace? And perhaps most importantly, do we look for ways to uplift and learn from each other, even when we’re on opposite sides?
I’m resharing NIU’s emotional moment celebrating this win again - my favorite CFB moment of this season as an NIU fan and alum - because it’s a reminder for all of us: when competitors come together with respect, everyone wins.
