‘Tis the season of giving and festive joy. Have you given any thought to what you want to give to your children or grandchildren, and not just for Christmas? Whilst you might get away with panic-buying presents on Christmas Eve, or just putting cash inside a Christmas card, deciding who gets what when you die is not something you should leave to the last minute. Online Wills are not designed to accommodate blended families, step children, extended family or special requests, but a bespoke Will can cover a myriad of circumstances, and make sure that your exact wishes are being met. If you want to learn more about bespoke Wills, please get in touch and I’ll be happy to help. #Seasonofgiving #Bespokewills #Personalestateplanning

To strengthen parent-child relationship, you must 1. Remember to tell your child you love them as they grow up - even through disagreements and difficult moments. 2. Having a conversation over breakfast or dinner is a great way to bond with your children. Get rid of distractions during meals and focus on the time you have together. As much as we prioritize making money for the family, they must also be considered cos they are important too.. #children #parenting #love #eloviainitiative #seasonsgreetings

💑 Today is National Siblings Day, a day set up to celebrate brothers and sisters and the bond between them. Here at Virtual Memory Box we are only too well aware of the importance of these bonds for children in care, with an estimated 37% of children with a sibling – 20,000 children – are separated from a sibling when placed in care. 📦 Working in partnership with Local Authorities, we have ongoing conversations and feedback about Virtual Memory Box, and the issues of siblings in care was one raised as a priority. So, we’ve now developed a feature that lets siblings grant permission to view each other’s memories, to help bridge the gap while they’re apart. This will help keep that bond and relationship strong while the siblings are apart, and help take part in celebrating their siblings, which could be by: 📸 Looking at shared photographs 🎤 Recording a message to your sibling 💬 Telling others about memories you share with your sibling. Wherever they are, we hope you can celebrate your sibling relationships today. https://lnkd.in/erGBf5Uh #Nationalsiblingday #childrenincare #socialcare

I don't usually think about Christmas until December and I like Christmas because I am lucky as I have happy experiences. For many, Christmas is not a "The season to be jolly" and brings many challenges after separation. Adjusting to "sharing" time with children after separation takes patience and effort, and Christmas can make this even more difficult for many families. I talk to parents about the arrangements for Christmas all the time and it is generally very difficult. I think it is important for them to remember that: 1. Children want to spend time with both parents: Their needs should come first when making plans. 2. Christmas isn’t just one day: Flexibility is important—be creative in how you celebrate. 3. Create new traditions: Both homes can offer special moments for children 4. Plan ahead: Clear schedules can reduce stress. I remember a child in one of my sessions last year worrying that Santa wouldn’t know where to bring her presents after her parents separated. 5. Christmas isn’t a competition: Share the "magic", and avoid turning it into a contest between parents. Christmas has to change after separation, and how children experience it is greatly influenced by the approach of both parents. While this can be a difficult conversation, it's essential to acknowledge. For those that need to have the #conversation #mediation is a quicker option and the #GovernmentVoucher provides £500 towards mediation after the #MIAM. What's your advice for parents? #mediation #childfocused #familylaw #communication

Recently, I had a conversation with a mother that was worried about her child… She had done everything she knew was “the right thing,” yet problems still lingered. What’s the solution in this circumstance? The solution is to keep moving forward. Keep doing the right thing, even when it is hard. Keep doing the right thing, even when others imply that you are wrong. Keep doing the right thing because you are the parent God gave your child. No one knows your child as well as you. No one knows what happens in your home as well as YOU. And no one has your child’s best interest at heart as much as YOU. Parents have been given the task of raising their children, not everyone with an opinion. Don’t let the voices of others deter you from moving forward. Keep doing the right thing, even when it is hard. If you need encouragement to keep doing the right thing, I will listen. Reach out: teri@stillwaterslife.com.

Books are powerful tools for fostering empathy, understanding, and resilience in children, especially during #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Thanks for sharing these valuable resources, BookTrust. I'll be sure to explore your booklists for meaningful conversations with the young readers in my life. https://lnkd.in/drQVTc_3
It's #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, and research shows that shared reading can have a really positive impact on children's wellbeing. Families Worker Luke has seen this in action at WILD Young Parents Project, a fantastic organisation supporting young families in Cornwall. We loved visiting WILD to see how they were sharing our books and resources with parents, carers and children who are part of their community. Here, Luke shares what a difference shared reading can make to families... #MHAW #ChildrensBooks #SharedReading #ReadingTogether #Families #Wellbeing
