I'm thrilled to share my completion of the Road Design project during my third semester of the Associate Degree in Civil Engineering. This project involved using the 12d modeling program to design a rural road, including detailing an intersection, cul-de-sac, road widening, superelevation, and services pipeline. I also calculated earthworks volumes and adjusted the model to achieve an earthworks balance. Working on this project was a highlight of my academic journey, and I'm eager to gain more experience with 12d and apply it in the industry. #CivilEngineering #RoadDesign #12dModeling

The design development of earthquake-resistant buildings is a critical field in the construction industry aimed at creating structures that can withstand seismic activity without significant damage. This discipline requires in-depth knowledge of civil engineering, seismology, and materials science to ensure the safety and durability of structures in areas at high risk of earthquakes. ⚡️First, engineers analyze the seismic history and potential of the region where construction is planned. Building in seismically active areas often uses strong, yet reasonably flexible materials such as reinforced concrete and steel. Seismic isolators are installed to separate the building from the foundation, allowing the structure to move independently of earth tremors. Dampers are used to absorb some of the vibration and reduce the amplitude of the vibrations. It is important to create building plans with the possibility of seismic vibrations in mind. This includes optimizing the distribution of mass and stiffness throughout the structure to prevent asymmetrical deformations that could lead to collapse. Special attention is paid to strengthening joints, walls, columns and other key structural elements. It serves as an excellent foundational course for anyone aspiring to enter the field of bridge engineering. Here are some of the key areas I covered: 🏗 Superstructure Design: · Learned about the essential location features, design objectives, principles of bridge aesthetics, and constructability issues critical to superstructure design. · Examined the four primary limit states associated with LRFD. · Identified the primary loads used in steel and concrete superstructure design. · Described the various load combinations used for steel and concrete superstructures and the load factors involved. · Examined design methodologies for ensuring the safety and stability of superstructures under various load conditions.
