It’s #WorldMigratoryBirdDay 🦆🦢🦤🦩and the #TSI goes wild 🤩! 🐦⬛🪿Birds play a huge role in preserving our precious ecosystems and, as such, all life on this planet! 🤝 Since 2023, the European Commission’s Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG #REFORM) supports three Member States - Denmark 🇩🇰 , Germany 🇩🇪 , and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 - though the Technical Support Instrument - to identify #innovative #methods and #digital #technologies to #monitor the #movement and number of #waterbirds in #Wadden Sea. 🐍 Actions are needed to address the cross-border challenge linked to the #EastAtlanticFlyway for water-birds encompassing coastal #wetlands all along the Atlantic coast, from Northern Europe down to southern Africa, including the Arctic breeding areas. 💚 This initiative is closely linked with the EU priorities set out in the #EuropeanGreenDeal, specifically the #EUBiodiversityStrategy, and the implementation of the #BirdsDirective, ⛳️ This project bears concrete #results in stepping up #conservation efforts for migratory birds and their journeys across borders. Hence, our campaign is a joint effort with Directorate General for Environment (DG #ENV).
