Jennifer Rumsey Celeste Monty Steve Ernest Cummins Inc. Jacobs Vehicle Systems So, there are times where #recruiters and #humanresources wonder why job candidates get riled up at the #ghosting that occurs.
Look no further that the horrifying treatment I received from Cummins / Jacobs Vehicle in Bloomfield CT today.
Passed my phone interview and Iniki Robert’s tells me she wants me on-site for an in person interview Monday 10am March 25th. I accept and agreed to the company physical (required) for their location
So I do my research, prepare for my interview, show up 5 minutes early, dressed in shirt and tie / shined shoes
End result, the only person who would speak to me (or did any work at all was the security/receptionist) at the front desk
It appears that even though the company felt I was a stellar fit and provided electrical and mechanical knowledge (at least an understanding of metal, wiring, mechanical design)…I was not good enough to even greet at the front door
I’m going to continue to be a job seekers advocate…EXPOSING the really bad places so that others don’t get caught up in horrible working environments
They don’t need me as a Purchasing Clerk (although I’d have been great at it). Cummins / Jacobs Vehicle needs me for a much HIGHER role ORGANIZING and controlling company workflow, oversight of employees (who all felt they were too good to meet with the very person they asked to show up)
Executive level / President level control of the building I saw would be more reasonable. Based upon the lack of cleanliness of the property, the overgrowth of shrubs hiding the entrance from the parking area…some much needed decision making authority at a senior level is needed there
I have sent an INVOICE to the CEO of Cummins with my E-mail communication. I expect to be paid for the time involved and invested is this less than adequate organization
You DO NOT ask someone to interview with you and then refuse to meet them!! It says everything you need to know about Cummins.
If that is the “quality” of their organization….then is the quality of their product similar to what I experienced today?
As a prospective employee…I’m the “customer” you have asked to meet with. Many places at least offer bottled water, coffee or a notepad with company logo
Cummins appears to be a bottom tier organization…and prospective job seekers need to know that for the future
