I moved from Poland to Norway 12 years ago. Relocating and changing career paths is always extremely challenging. At the beginning, there is usually no social network, language creates a barrier, the style of living differs. I tried to make my days important and memorable, but I felt I did not really belong and I felt somehow lost despite trying my best. And then, I saw an add like the one below, Norwegian Hull Club, an international company, was looking for an adjuster. I joined Norwegian Hull Club almost 10 years ago. I am a bit touched writting this post I have to admit. I don’t want to create a cheesy story, but maybe this post will create a chance for people like me :) I have to admit that NHC became literally my second home. My colleagues became my friends and my social network. They made me feel safe, important and knowledgeable. The hierarchy I knew so well from Poland disappeared and was completely replaced by this empowering mentorship and teamwork across the company, where we all have each others back and can rely one on another, professionally and privately. This place, people, have supported me in the better and worse days of my life. And we share so many joyful moments and laughs! In this safe and supportive environment, I feel grew so much, both professionally and personally. I simply became a better colleague, friend, person, employee, even a better mum. And it all started with a simple “adjuster add”. Now we are looking for claims handlers, business operation specialists and underwritters. These roles seem to be defined, but, I guarantee, it’s so much more! We say expect more. Yes, expect more from us as a service provider. But, to me, it’s first and foremost expect more on a personal level :) We like to say that at NHC foundation are the people. To me, at NHC, EVERYTHING is about the people, internally and externally. I really hope to start working with you, whoever you are, wherever you are coming from and whatever is your life story. I want to know it all and therefore, once you get in, we have a coffee and start building on this amazing adventure! The picture below is not AI generated :) Stefania on the picture is from Italy and Joannis, who was my leader, is from Faroe Islands. Both are super smart, humble, extremely relaxing and fun to be around. And this is just the beginning :)
As the weekend beckons, let's take a look at a great opportunity to take your career further with Norwegian Hull Club! We're looking for an experienced Claims Handler to join our Claims team in Oslo. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated and dynamic team of specialists working within the global shipping industry. Your main responsibility will be the management of marine casualties, from first notification to final adjustment and payment. Our ideal candidate has practical experience from marine insurance and/or shipping and is educated to a Master/Bachelor level within nautical, technical, legal, or similar fields of study. Experience from technical/commercial ship management and/or claims adjusting and handling will be seen as an advantage for this position. The successful applicant can look forward to being part of a diverse, inclusive organisation in a truly international environment. We are dedicated to diversity in the workplace, where experience and fresh perspectives combine to help us deliver on our ‘Expect more’ ethos. Interested? Every day, new opportunity to improve your skills Work hard & smart, believe in yourself and respect others work
Why ppl working in railway in London on track don't have orange trousers?! Because the system let them(a t002 even said 'no possession/no need'/ he comes like after a painting job at home)... Why every change comes after an event and not before?! Because the system says it's okay. A rule works if it's applied to everyone going on track at any one point. A simple rule like having same level of uniform per system for the same environment is ...first step in making a system fairer, ppl to care and things to go smoothly. Some, like 🚆 drivers or station staff, don't even look like they are coming to work. It's get tiresome to try to explain something as simple as this. #ppe #railway #London
