Exciting News! September 4 marked the official launch of the "Somos Ciudad" initiative in Guatemala, a groundbreaking project implemented by IBI, dedicated to building safer, more resilient communities across the country. Funded by USAID and in partnership with local government authorities, municipalities, and social organizations, "Somos Ciudad" aims to enhance public safety in Guatemala City, Villa Nueva, Escuintla, Puerto Barrios, Quetzaltenango, and Antigua Guatemala. By integrating innovative technologies and fostering collaboration among governments, businesses, and civil society, this initiative is designed to drive impactful change. Key project objectives include the implementation of violence prevention programs, the promotion of youth engagement in community development, and the use of advanced tools to improve public safety. The launch event also featured the signing of a “Commitment Manifesto” by key leaders of Guatemala´s central government, municipalities and USAID, reaffirming their dedication to a safer, stronger Guatemala.   "Somos Ciudad" will bring together diverse sectors of Guatemalan society. Cultural activities at the launch, including music by Rebeca Lane and Audry Funk with Guatemalan youth, and a graffiti mural an artistic tool to promote peaceful communities, highlighted the importance of community cohesion and youth involvement in creating a safer, more vibrant future for all. This marks the start of many efforts to revitalize communities in Guatemala and create a lasting legacy of safety and hope.

We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the theoretical part of the "Data Visualization with Power BI" training at the National Assembly of Armenia.   Over the past two weeks in July, participants from the Armenian parliament’s Budget Office, Standing Committees and structural units engaged in 5 intensive sessions covering the foundational principles of data visualization. They focused on converting complex data into clear, actionable insights, learning effective design principles such as the use of color, layout, and scale to enhance readability and interpretability. The theoretical component also addressed common pitfalls in data visualization, ensuring participants understand how to present data accurately and ethically.   On July 8, our Data Visualization Expert Arman Asryan kicked off the training with a dynamic first session, accompanied by opening remarks from Tsovinar Vardanyan, Head of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
