The Hughes Fire near Castaic Lake has rapidly expanded, burning over 10,000 acres and prompting evacuation orders for more than 50,000 residents. Firefighters, aided by aerial water drops, have managed to halt the fire's spread, achieving 14% containment despite dangerous winds. Nearby, a new fire near California State University Channel Islands has led to further evacuations. The Palisades and Eaton fires, still burning after nearly three weeks, have resulted in at least 28 fatalities and the destruction of over 14,000 structures. These devastating events have caused at least $28 billion in insured damage, sparking debates about federal disaster aid requirements. President Trump plans to visit the area to inspect the damage. Critical fire weather warnings remain in effect as low humidity and strong winds persist. #CaliforniaWildfires #HughesFire #PalisadesFire #EatonFire #Evacuations #Firefighters #DisasterRelief #ClimateCrisis #StaySafe #CommunityStrong
