My #monomers NAS and DEAEA go hand in hand together to form a #polymer with very good conversion yields, high molecular weight and narrow size distribution. Why is this so important? For the evaluation of the permeability of #gram-negative #bacteria. How? With a boron sensor made by a triphenylene derivative, which synthetic pathway is still under development at #OM2 from #CQE - #IST. This application note titled "Fast Stern-Volmer analysis in flow" illustrates how a Vapourtec E-Series can be configured with a spectrophotometer for Stern-Volmer fluorescence quenching studies. This set-up was developed for undergraduate teaching laboratory sessions and was produced for Vapourtec by Christopher G. Thomson, Arno Kraft and Filipe Vilela, the Institute of Chemical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. The results obtained in both batch and flow highlight the benefits of the flow system over manual data collection for determining Stern-Volmer quenching rates.
