📚 Project Vocabulary: Project Charter Definition: A document issued by the project initiator or sponsor that formally authorizes the existence of a project and provides the project manager with the authority to apply organizational resources to project activities. Example: In a new product development project, the charter would include the project purpose, objectives, initial requirements, and stakeholder identification. It serves as the project's "birth certificate." A project charter is like a ship's manifest, defining the journey ahead and the authority of the captain. 📜🚢 #ProjectVocabulary #ProjectCharter #ProjectInitiation #acutepmc

#PMP When we "define" we mean discribe. when we say "refine" we mean improve. #Project planning means refining the project objectives defined in the initiation, then collecting requirments based on our needs and stakeholders' expectations. After that, determining the project scope. finially we break down these requirments and objectives into concrete, manageable tasks.

"I have had a lot of highs and lows in the last few days" The recent weeks have been a rollercoaster of challenges and accomplishments. As, most of my work has not revolved around a specific project which has essentially been unique. So, we casted huge possibilities from the start. Then, questions were posed, regarding the goals that were set, to know, if they were achievable and sufficed. Yes, there were some troubling times like brainstorming and working on late nights. But, guess what? That is what made it even more fun! The best part? Seeing each of the puzzle pieces of the set come up together, each person providing a special and unique middle piece. So with every jump we were getting closer to something brilliant. Well, I cannot yet throw to you all the details, but this estimate is not too far off. I suppose, you would have to wait for a while, as in good news time flies when you’re focused on something good. Our Team, I would rather call you star. And I know someone is going to read this and give me an interesting story about how you have been doing something working on something. So don’t be shy and share your story as I would love to hear it! #projectmanagement #projectgoals #projectcost #CAPM #PMP

„Think slow, act fast“ is the authors’ advice on how to run (big) projects successfully. Means: take enough time during planning, scenario building, risk assessment and risk mitigation, prototyping etc before you go into execution mode. And try to rush through execution as fast as possible as this reduces the risk for unplanned events… A second great insight (even if obvious): project success is mostly messured against a „plan“. But if the plan is wrong, you simply cannot be successful. This is unfortunately aften the case when unrealistic end dates are used to „sell“ the project. Same is actually also true for budgets…. My own „project philosophy“ was: „projects are screwed up in the beginning, not the end“. Same underlying idea but the authors found better words to describe the challenge. Great read with plenty of examples… Prof. Bent Flyvbjerg Dan Gardner #projectmanagement
