BREATHING. Apparently it's quite important (!) This weekend was all about catching, and slowing, our breath at our home in Cornwall. It's OK to say, 'I've had enough' and 'I need a break'. It's a key component of my wellness action plan, my strategy for maintaining and improving my physical, mental and emotional health and capturing my goals, future actions and the potential resources I'll need. It's one of the most positive things I have learned so far as part of my mental health and advocacy studies. Being self aware, recognising your stress triggers, being able to articulate to others the signs and indicators of your stress and identifying coping mechanisms which work for you provides holistic self care for you and those closest to you, at work and at home.
