Possible alliance of enterprises against NVIDIA: Will it work? 🤝 In the latest #theCUBE Pod episode, David Vellante and John Furrier discuss the potential alliance of enterprises, including Samsung, Intel, and Qualcomm, to catch up to Nvidia and whether it will work or fail. “If Nvidia is the target, why not just bring all those resources together and say, ‘Okay, we're going open because doing it collectively is the only way we'll ever catch up to Nvidia because they have such a huge moat,’” says Vellante. “I have no problem with that if the alliances are functional and work like I've seen many alliances that look good on paper. But the market is so focused on other things that there's no time to make the alliance work if the market changes,” adds Furrier. “There are a couple of factors. One, are they truly committed to the alliance? Two, is the market moving too fast for the alliance to get their eyes on the beachhead to be secure? If they're motivated by the fact that together they're winning, then that's something that could work. That's how OSI [open systems interconnect] happened,” Furrier concludes. 📺 Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gCam-Ewy #theCUBE #theCUBEresearch

What a wild surge for Arm, but was it really? The initial ties to #AI during its IPO felt more speculative, but the clear path to being a big winner from AI proliferation in the datacenter, automotive, and PC/Devices are setting up Arm to win big through not just licensing on its cores, but white glove services such as design validation. On the AI PC front I discuss how OEMs like HP, Dell, and Lenovo, will lean on Arm for a plethora of designs and also how Qualcomm CEO Cristiano R. Amon is all in on Arm-based architecture for the next wave of PCs. Of course, Intel Corporation and AMD will be fiercely competing on the x86 front but the overall wave from AI PC will be a high tide that lifts all boats. I joined Dan Murphy on CNBC International Capital Connection last night to discuss Arm and SoftBank (Arm's largest shareholder). What the market needs to know and understand about Arm's big "leg up" yesterday. (Pun Intended). #Semiconductors #Arm #Qualcomm

Don't miss out on the upcoming #Intel IFS Direct Connect 2024 event today (February 21st) to learn more about this exciting collaboration and other industry trends! https://lnkd.in/gMXA-j4j 🛍️Intel Foundry Services (#IFS) has announced that #Faraday Technology will be using its #18A process tech to fab its #Arm #Neoverse-based processors. Faraday Technology plans to work on a 64-core processor based on Arm's Neoverse designs and will be using Arm's Compute Subsystem (#CSS) processors to do so. The CSS design leaves little room for customization and is the closest Arm has come to designing whole processors for their customers. 🎯What's fascinating about this partnership is Faraday's decision to fab the chip on Intel's 18A process tech, which is expected to deliver considerable improvements in #efficiency by simplifying power and data routing. Intel is expected to be the first to market with this technology, which will supposedly be "manufacturing-ready" later this year. This decision shows the potential for collaborative innovation, even between competitors. https://lnkd.in/gqyXH2a5

Qualcomm made a takeover approach to Intel on Friday. If successful, it will be the largest technology M&A deal, surpassing Microsoft. The deal is expected to face extensive politicization and anti-trust scrutiny. My question is whether Qualcomm and Intel can compete with Nvidia in developing AI chips. #Qualcomm #Intel #Nvidia #Technology #MergersAndAcquisitions #AIChips #WealthyRiseDaily
