I had the pleasure of being part of the IDC Saudi Arabia CIO Summit 2024 as an Advisory Board member and joining the panel on “Realizing Optimal Business Value from IT.” It was a great opportunity to connect with passionate and professional CIOs and IT leaders who are leading major digitization strategies and initiatives across different industries and companies in Saudi Arabia. During our discussions, we really dug into how IT can go beyond just keeping the lights on – it’s about using technology and innovation to create real and measurable value for businesses. The pace of change is fast, especially in Cloud and AI, but with the right approach and strategy, IT leaders can drive meaningful digital transformation for their organizations. IT is no longer a back-office function; IT is the business!. Hence, CIOs need to grow and evolve their IT departments to enable businesses with more digitized processes and deliver products and services to both business users and customers that drive business value and outcomes. IT performance should not be measured only by achieving traditional SLAs but also by the value it adds to the business.
