As a strong advocate for Learning Through Play, I've witnessed firsthand the profound and enduring impact it has on learners of all ages. Unfortunately, in many educational institutions, play-based learning tends to diminish as our children progress through their academic journeys. As adults, we recognize that our most effective learning experiences for career advancement, acquiring new skills for projects, or embarking on entrepreneurial ventures have always involved active participation rather than passive listening. If this holds true, why should we limit play-based learning as our young learners grow? Curricula must be designed with children at the forefront, with teaching and learning rooted in the concept of play. One effective approach is adopting a project-based curriculum. Let's empower our children to play and learn simultaneously. Unlock the key to effective learning by embracing diversity! 🌟 There's no one-size-fits-all in understanding information. For years, students have pondered their unique learning styles. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟏: 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Navigating the educational landscape for young learners, especially those with learning disabilities or special abilities in their foundational years (Primary 1-3), presents a unique challenge. These children often aren’t fully aware of their needs yet, which makes it even more difficult for teachers to suggest effective solutions. In my class, I identified Samson, an 8-year-old pupil who is not struggling with numeracy but faced significant challenges in recognizing the English alphabet. Understanding that traditional methods might not be effective, I engaged him differently, tailoring my approach to suit his unique learning style. I am proud to share that Samson has made significant progress. Although he hasn’t reached where I want him to be yet, the improvements he has shown are remarkable and encouraging. His journey underscores the importance of patience, personalized teaching methods, and continuous support in special needs education. Supporting special needs education is not just about teaching; it's about understanding, patience, and celebrating every small victory. It’s about creating an inclusive learning environment where every child, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to succeed. #TeachForNigeria #SpecialNeedsEducation #InclusiveEducation #EveryChildMatters #EducationForAll #Leadership #Empowerment #Growth #SocialChange #TFNImpactStories #TFNLeaders #TFN2022Fellows #TFNSchoolLeaders #TFN2024Graduation #TFN2024GraduationCountdown

Equity in Education: More Than Just a Buzzword If equity is the key to addressing why so many teachers feel unprepared to teach content and why so many students are falling behind in reading and math, then I am 100% behind it. However, true equity isn't a one-time fix—it needs to be deeply embedded into every layer of education, from policymakers to classroom practices. It must become the foundation on which we build curriculum, teacher development, student support, and everything in between. When we ensure that equity is woven into the fabric of our educational systems, from the top down, only then will we see real progress. #EquityInEducation #EducationalLeadership #InclusiveEducation #StudentSuccess #TeacherDevelopment #LifelongLearning #EdLeadership
