I’m making these terms up but there is a point, as I think we need to move to ‘3.0’ ASAP. Law school ‘Admissions 1.0’ predated a professionalized staff and mostly consisted of faculty committees rendering decisions. ‘2.0’ is what we have now, admissions professionals adding marketing, data, etc. and more real time needs based decision-making while managing merit and need aid. 'Admissions 3.0’ would do the above while integrating the career services department and behavioral interviewing to make the decision-rendering process capitalize on fit and applicants who will personally grow at the school. Many who will then become lumanaries in their fields enhancing the schools brand for years to come. The best way to determine this would be with a holistic (a word I rarely use because it is overused) admissions process including better tests, e.g. JD-Next and medical school like interviewing emphasis.
