Quantization of LLMs Its a technique which reduces the compute power required to run a LLM. In other words, it helps you to run a LLM on your every day machines. Typically, LLMs use use 32-bit floating-point numbers to store weights and perform calculations. Quantization reduces this precision to 16-bit, 8-bit, or even lower bit representations. These lower precision operations are faster to compute but there's a tradeoff in terms of accuracy. But, if you use 16-bit quantization (often called half-precision), the performance loss is generally minimal and you don't miss out on much. #llms #quantization #cpu #compute

How to improve your application performance !! At times , Disk IO reaches saturation at that time RAID disk could be used to improve or scale IO performance. 🔈 Suppose with a normal 80GB disk , IO is 30–150 MB/s, or 80–160 MB/s for a 7200 RPM HDD 1️⃣ With RAID 0: Using 4 Disks IO will be 120-600 MB/s but without any redundancy 2️⃣ With RAID 10: Using 4+4 Disks IO will be 120-600 MB/s but with any redundancy Sharing what I learned today :)
