#GiveSomethingAwayDay Monday 15th July was National ‘Give Something Away Day’ so we decided to celebrate this at Ideal by organising a Swap Shop! Staff were encouraged to bring in up to 5 items in good condition, that they were happy to give away. They were then able to exchange these for other items. We had a myriad of donations, ranging from household goods, toys, clothes and books to kitchen supplies and unwanted gifts! Any unclaimed items will be taken to a local charity shop. By swapping, we reduce the need for new production, which means fewer resources consumed, less energy expended, and a smaller carbon footprint. Swapping is the new shopping! Hayley Tanner was delighted with the Skateboard Pads and Helmet she got for her daughter! #reducewaste #recycle

At work we talk about recycling, sustainability & CO2 footprint. What about in our private life? Twice a year a flea market is arranged in my village and this weekend I have again worked as a volunteer. Friday evening we unpack all things related to children: clothes, shoes, books, toys etc. and on Saturday we opened for the public. Sunday we had a smaller flea market related to clothes for adults. So far the Saturday is the big event with more than 550 vistors during 5 hours. It feels good to be part of this. To teach our kids that buying secondhand & selling outgrown clothes and old toys is good for the environment & wallet. The things that are not sold nor collected by the sellers are given to charity. The money that are left after all costs are covered and the sellers have been given the 85% of their sales is donated to charity. It is a weekend full of joy and win-win 🤩 Would you consider to buy secondhand?

A new year has arrived, and with it comes resolutions, promises and new habits! One habit we recommend starting is decluttering your space, because nothing makes a room look messy or dirty like clutter everywhere. Throughout the month of January, move from room to room with a box collecting items that no longer serve you or spark joy. By the end of the month, you'll have a box of items you can either sell, consign or donate, and your home will feel much more tidy and peaceful! #Janitorial #Cleaning #JanitorialServices #CommercialCleaning #CleaningTip #CleaningHack

Founder Share The Dignity l Finalist Australian of The Year l Pride of Australia |Leader|Speaker|Changemaker
The idea for Dress for Dignity came to me much like the idea for Share the Dignity’s #ItsintheBag campaign – cleaning out my cupboards. When cleaning out my bathroom cabinets of unused and unopened products I had the idea to pop them in a handbag to donate, this was how the much loved #ItsintheBag Christmas appeal was born. Unfortunately, the demand for the bags from Share the Dignity charity partners only grows every year leaving a gap of around 50,000 bags per year. It truly breaks our heart to not be able to fulfil every single request. Similarly, while going through my closet and removing clothes i had never worn i thought “what if I could help fill the gap of #ItsintheBag by selling my dresses” And with that Dress for Dignity was born. I truly believe with Dress for Dignity it only takes ONE dress to make a difference to a woman in need. Shop or Sell now via the link in our bio and make an impact for a woman in need. May your heart and closet always be full 💞 #dressfordignity #fashionmarketplace #prelovedfashion #prelovedfashionmarketplace #sustainablefashion #charitablefashion

If you have children, it’s tempting to just pack up their warm-weather clothes and forget about them until the next warm season. However, it’s better to go through them first and pull out the garments that are torn, stained (and dispose of these), or already don’t fit right anymore (donate these). Chances are the clothes that are left from this sorting won’t fit them next year, so unless you are holding onto them for a younger sibling, take out only the most precious ones you can’t part with and donate the rest to a good cause. You’ll have less to worry about without the excess clothing, and you’ll be able to purchase new or gently used clothes that fit them when spring rolls around. #greatfallsorganizers #great #falls #organizers #greatfallsva #greatfalls #virginia #fallschurch #fallschurchva #fallschurchorganizers #personalizedservice #professionalorganizers

Packing really doesn't have to be a headache! Follow these tips for an efficient packing process: 1. Declutter First: It’s time to get rid of items you no longer need! Donate, sell or throw! 2. Start early and pack room by room: Pack one room at a time to stay organized. 3. Heaviest Items First: Place heavier items at the bottom of boxes, and fill the rest with light items – this makes the boxes easier to lift.
