🕹️ Did you know that many classic arcade games didn't have an actual ending? Instead, they would simply get harder and faster until the player eventually lost. One iconic example of this is Pac-Man. Released in 1980, Pac-Man quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The game's simple yet addictive gameplay, colorful graphics, and memorable sound effects made it a hit in arcades around the world. But despite its popularity, Pac-Man didn't actually have an ending. The game consisted of 256 levels, but a programming error caused the game to glitch out on level 256, creating what is now known as the "kill screen." Thanks to the 8-bit CPU and an infamous overflow, the game tries to draw 256 fruits and of course it can't. Maybe someday, someone will finally conquer the kill screen or even better fix the 🪲! #PacMan #RetroGaming #GamingHistory #KillScreen

Game Design Director - (Ex EA, LEGO) 15+ years in the games industry, leading teams of all sizes across various platforms, genres and business models.
For every new platform the first type of content that we usually see is an attempt at porting genres and successes from other platforms. Each medium has its own rules. e.g. Augmented Reality is Spatial AND Semantically closer to the real world. 3D is just half of its potential (else its just VR with passthrough). Make it reactive to the environment (Geolocation and scene recognition) and you are getting closer to actual AR. Make the environment reactive to it and you get actual Mixed Reality... For a while we will see attempts from bigger IPs to port their concepts straight to XR headsets and devices like the Apple Vision Pro. Match 3 casual, hyper casual successes like flappy bird and even "hardcore" titles will all try direct ports of old experiences and fail to find market fit. Then creators will learn how to truly make their games native to the platform. The cycle goes on and on since before books themselves. Dont get me wrong. There is no easy shortcut here. The only way to ensure progress rather than random accidental success is to fail fast and learn fast to map out what the new rules are. So products like this one have an important pioneering value and I respect that. Innovation comes from putting in the hard work in unknown areas and adding a lot of passion.

How to Play: Gestures: Rock: Form a fist with your hand. Paper: Extend your hand flat, with all fingers extended. Scissors: Extend your index and middle fingers, forming a V shape. Rules: Rock crushes scissors (Rock wins against Scissors). Scissors cuts paper (Scissors win against Paper). Paper covers rock (Paper wins against Rock). Gameplay: Both players simultaneously choose one of the three gestures. The choices are revealed simultaneously. The winner is determined based on the rules mentioned above. Winning: If both players choose the same gesture, it's a tie. Otherwise, the player with the winning gesture wins the round.
