Hot Off The Press - the latest publication from the RCVM@OVC team was just published in AVMA Journals involving Kat Sutherland, Jason B Coe, Kassandra Blais and collaborators Margaret Gober and Heather BerstPuchalski. The study explored client preferences for how value is communicated via written means and assessed the consistency of this preference with how veterinary clinic websites present information for preventive care services. Findings suggest opportunities exist to increase communication of the benefits of veterinary care on veterinary clinic websites, which may increase client engagement with preventive care services. Published open access, the full article is available here: https://lnkd.in/eHJFsAKW #veterinarymedicine #clientpreference #knowledgesharing Funded by an unrestricted grant from Zoetis Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph

Palliative care is a specific area of veterinary medicine and here at Sunset Vets, it’s the focus of what we do. We know that the end of life is a period where our pets’ sometimes need a little extra TLC and for families who are nearing the end with their pets, the support of a palliative care team can make all the difference. A palliative care appointment is similar to a regular doctors appointment but with a different focus. Instead of focusing on curative outcomes of care, we are aiming to deliver comfort care. Our core priority is to ensure we are identifying and managing anything that may cause your pet pain and helping you to prepare well for the end stages of care. This involves helping to maintain a good quality of life where a patient’s disease or illness allows and supporting you through the difficulties of end-of-life decision-making where suffering is beginning to advance.
