Do Less, Lead Better | Retention & Burnout Solutions for Managers and HR Leaders | Coach | Leadership Development Facilitator | Sandwich Generation Caregiver
The Remote vs. In-Person Debate is tiring, y’all. I love the flexibility of working remotely 🏡 (who doesn't?), but brainstorming big ideas virtually can feel...uninspired. That's where in-person collaboration shines! ✨ Here's the key: there's not one “right” answer for every person or project on every single day. Context matters! For: 🤔Brainstorming & Problem-Solving❓ - In-person time can't be beat! (And I love a good retreat!) 📋Individual Tasks & Follow-Ups ✅- Remote and WFH wins for dedicated focus time! Let's ditch the "either/or" and embrace the power of the “both/ and” in CONTEXT! And no one does in-person retreats for school system teams better than USHCA. 😉 #WFH #teamretreat #Flexibility #FutureOfWork #contextmatters

Earlier this year, CBIA and @CEA organized multiple roundtables about #CTUnspokenCrisis, and how we can better support the 119,000 disconnected and at-risk young people in our state. We rarely have so many leaders from different fields participating in one comprehensive discussion, and we wanted to share the highlights with you today. 🙌 Please take a moment to hear some of those different perspectives here - https://lnkd.in/eQ3ZfcUZ

Dr Kate Chhatwal OBE, CEO of Challenge Partners, and Paul Watson, CEO of the PRESTON HEDGES TRUST, will both be leading a workshop at this week's Association of School and College Leaders Annual Conference 2024 - 'Shaping our Collective Future: Big ideas to lead the system to excellence and equity'. "As we approach the election, this session will examine what it will take - in the next five to ten years - to lead the system to excellence and equity. It will provide an opportunity to shape the debate by exploring with your peers what a truly excellent and equitable education could and should look like. It will also identify what we can do, without permission, to lead the changes we want to see for our pupils and communities. Based on a series of workshops and discussions with school and trust leaders across #ChallengePartners, we will present four emerging Big Ideas - and examples of where they are already being implemented - for challenge and refinement. There will be plenty of space for new ideas too." The Indiana Charter Innovation Center (ICIC) is proud to stand on the shoulders of giants, building on the incredible foundation laid by former Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson, The Mind Trust, and countless charter school champions. Their visionary work has set the stage for excellence in Indiana, and we are deeply thankful for their efforts 🙌✨. Now, ICIC is poised to set the pace for the nation’s charter sector, leaning into the three essential elements of success: vision, people, and a strong advocacy structure. As highlighted in "The Indiana-Polis Story," Indiana’s charter movement isn’t just about leading—it’s about “pacing the nation” by embracing bold innovation, empowering passionate leaders, and advocating relentlessly for the resources our schools need to thrive. At ICIC, we’re driving transformative growth 📈 by increasing the number of high-quality charter schools, advocating for equitable funding 🏛️ to close resource gaps, and providing unparalleled support to strengthen school leaders and ensure excellent student outcomes 🎓. With this foundation, we’re positioning Indiana’s charter schools as national pioneers in educational innovation and accountability. Together, we’re shaping the future of education, ensuring every student in Indiana has access to a world-class education. #SchoolBoardAppreciationMonth Serving students 📚 requires the expertise 🧠 and compassion ❤️ of many people with many forms of expertise, but in this month, let’s take the opportunity to express gratitude 🙏 to our school board members 🏫. They are a vital link 🔗 between the local community 🏡 and the school district 🏢. Each week this month, we look forward to highlighting each of our board members! 🌟 An effective school board models collaboration 👥, operates within the domain boards were created for 📜, and does so with ever-growing professionalism 🌟 and expertise 🧠. The board’s domain 📚, or primary functions, are to provide visionary leadership 🌠, effective governance 📊, and strategic advocacy 📣 on behalf of their local districts 🏘️ and K-12 education 🎓 as a whole. While doing so, they should remain committed to educational equity 📚, student achievement 🎉, and community engagement 🤝. In fact, studies 📈 have shown a correlation between a school board’s performance 🏆 and its students’ achievement levels 📊. Learn more at ysd7.org/board. 📖💻
