Branching out in #Madagascar! 🌳 In partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada teamed up with local communities to restore #forests and #ProtectBiodiversity. Through the #ClimateAdaptationResilience (CLARE) program, we didn’t just plant trees-we planted seeds of hope, resilience, and #sustainability The project aims to ensure the effectiveness of forest carbon programs and that these programs do not negatively impact communities. Why? As recognized by the United Nations, forest conservation is crucial for climate mitigation. By addressing the social issues that could happen during mitigation efforts, we can ensure that local communities benefit from them rather than face harm. How? By: ✔️ Supporting field-training courses for key stakeholders; ✔️ Producing and sharing videos to communicate the social issues associated with forest conservation and restoration; ✔️ Using films and policy briefs in training, among other activities. Together, we can restore vital forest landscapes and empower communities, laying the foundation for a greener and more sustainable future for all. 📸 © Forest4Climate&People, Madagascar #Biodiversity | #ClimateAction | #ClimateChange | #ClimateCrisis | #ConservationMatters | #EcoFriendly | #EnvironmentalConservation | #EnvironmentalSustainability | #ForestConservation | #ForestRestoration | #GlobalWarming | #GreenInitiatives | #ProtectOurPlanet
