Deputy Manager, The Blossom Nursery Family. CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for children and young people services approved by KHDA .
What if we let children's natural curiosity be the driving force behind their learning journey? In today's rapidly changing world, I fully believe that it is more important than ever for educators to embrace the Curiosity Approach. This child-led method allows children to explore and learn through play, discovering answers for themselves in environments filled with natural materials and real-life tools. By asking open-ended questions, we can expand their thinking and ignite that magic spark of curiosity. That said, I feel it is also important accept that today's children are also deeply curious about technology. Rather than shying away from it, we can embrace technology as another tool in their journey of discovery, integrating it in a balanced way to complement natural learning. Do you think technology has a place in fostering curiosity in young children, or should we stick solely to natural materials and hands-on play? NuMinds Enrichment was created in 2013 by two "rebellious" public school teachers, Ben Koch and Justin Vawter. Before NuMinds, Ben and Justin were master teachers, who brought their love of learning to the classroom. However, their spark made them different, forcing them to exist as "rogue" teachers who toed the line between following orders and creating a sacred learning space for their students. After experiencing first-hand what happens when curriculum is standardized and made to "fit every student," Ben and Justin solidified their human-centric vision and started their venture. NuMinds was their way of sharing real inspired learning with the world. Along the way, they realized something very simple and powerful... healthy, empowered, supported TEACHERS are the true catalysts to transforming education. This metaphor of teacher as catalyst inspired our unique term for them: INSPIRATORS. Sadly, most teachers do not feel supported or empowered to bring their most inspired selves into the classroom. This is why the NuMinds Inspirator Network is here: To be a home base, a community, a refuge, and an inspiration for INSPIRATORS around the world who want to feel connected and supported by a larger, positive movement in education. Here you won't just find amazing resources. You'll find a family of fellow Inspirators looking for ways to bring their most authentic, inspired selves into teaching. It's going to take a village of inspired dreamers and doers supporting each other to transform education. Consider this an outstretched hand. Get on this boat with us?? Associate Professor of Education, Associate Head (Education) of Leadership Management and Marketing School at De Montfort University
Effective learning isn't a one-size-fits-all approach and that is where our #immersiveBlock approach shines! Some of my takeaways from the Teaching and Learning conference De Montfort University Empathy fuels connection: Caring for students' well-being (including commutes and personal lives) builds trust and fosters a positive learning environment. Digital is the thread: Integrate technology seamlessly, enhancing the learning experience, not replacing it. Think beyond cont: interactive tools, personalized learning paths, and accessible resources that students want to engage with. Learning goes multi-dimensional: Embrace the non-linear! Break down traditional structures, offering flexibility and choice to cater to diverse learning needs. Focus on time well-spent: Increase learning time on task by making every minute engaging and meaningful. Encourage active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Learning is a journey, not a destination. Let's work together to create experiences that truly spark curiosity, ignite passion, and empower every student to thrive! https://lnkd.in/eA7U_Fja #education #block #lifelonglearning #wearethefuture

In today’s educational landscape, there is a growing shift towards learning and impact beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. This approach involves taking children outside school walls, exposing them to challenging and exciting experiences that extend beyond the conventional learning environment. Teenagers, in particular, are spending a significant portion of their learning time engaged in real-world projects, connecting with the world around them. Despite concerns from critics that this shift might render traditional schools irrelevant, we believe in a transformation rather than disappearance. Schools will continue to serve as essential safe spaces for learning, acting as launching pads for children to explore their curiosity in the broader world. These special places will play a crucial role in facilitating the transition from childhood homes to the larger society of peers and adults. The schools of the future will definitely not resemble those we have today, they will be spaces where individuals, young and old, continually develop and grow in each other’s company, akin to the collaborative nature of ant colonies. These learning places will serve as incubation sites for continuous change and growth, fostering an environment where everyone thrives collectively. We at HPL Schools are the start-ups of these incubation sites. #education #learning #brain #holistic #flourish #positivepsychology #parenting #school #teacher
