Come and join us at (re)Biz where we won't pretend that technology can solve all of our problems, or that "green growth" is a thing, but we will face into the changes we need to make at an individual, organisational and systemic level if we want to reach true sustainability. ******* The (re)Biz (re)connecting business to Earth workshop runs for 28 days and is designed to be taken at the same time as working full-time. Sessions are held online, with 1 x zoom session each week. The weekly time commitment is approximately 5-7 hours including the zoom sessions, with additional resources for those who have the capacity to delve further. 🌍 Understanding the Interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Key Steps towards advancing them 🌏 The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are not standalone objectives, but a comprehensive framework interconnected in their aims and impacts. Progress in one goal can positively influence others, creating a ripple effect towards sustainable development. For instance, advancements in Goal 4 (Quality Education) can lead to reduced poverty (Goal 1) and improved health (Goal 3). Similarly, achieving Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) supports Goal 13 (Climate Action) by reducing emissions and combating climate change. 🌟 Introducing Key Steps towards Advancing the SDGs 🌟 In Southeast Asia, progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals since 2015 shows a mix of achievements and challenges. While some goals like No Poverty and Life on Land have seen progress, others such as Zero Hunger, Quality Education, and Climate Action require urgent action. Collaboration and intensified efforts are crucial to achieving substantive improvements across all areas. In this document, we delve into the essential key steps crucial for advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. These steps encompass critical areas such as enhanced collaboration, increased investment, policy reform, data collection and monitoring, empowerment and education, innovation and technology, climate action, advocacy, and awareness. By exploring these key steps, we highlight the stakeholder involved, job creation potential, and their link to each other. Unveiling the Hidden Potential of the Global South: For generations, the Global South has been overlooked in the world’s major decisions. While the Global North has thrived in industrial and service sectors, the South continues to face significant challenges in industrial development. Despite this disparity, the North has consistently relied on the South’s rich resources. Today, climate change presents the greatest challenge of our time, and the world must turn to the Global South for solutions. Regions in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania hold immense potential for driving sustainable development and innovation. Yet, this potential remains hidden due to several barriers: - Lack of education - Restrictive patents on technology and medicine - Economic inequality -Political instability -Inadequate infrastructure To effectively combat climate change and promote global progress, we must recognize and harness the value of the Global South. This means providing access to technology, education, and medicine, and addressing the structural challenges that impede progress.
