This week has been a blast at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) here in Sydney that some of the Endava Asia Pacific team attended. Endava is unlike any other firm I have worked at as we can create customised hardware and software and solve the most complex business challenges. It was incredibly interesting to be able to speak with some mining firms and listen to some of their pain points around data, and to effectively discuss solutions on the spot that leverage both hardware and software as well the different methods of transmitting the data long distances in isolated areas. What I learned at the conference was that regardless of what sector you're in, there are pain points around capturing accurate data in the physical world and connecting it back into the digital world and automating processes. As I head up business development in the Telco, Auto and Technology sectors for Endava Asia Pacific, I'm looking to meet firms that want to solve business challenges via technology. Most organisations will have conducted a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for each of their processes as part of their Business Continuity Plan (BCP). The BIA will usually need to be reviewed as the standard BCP will need to be refocussed on potential cyber threats identified in the Cyber Threat Analysis (CTA).
