🌿 Celebrating Community Days with Joe and Blake Gallimore! 🌿 We are excited to share the remarkable efforts of Joe Gallimore and his son Blake, who have been working diligently on the Home Group contract in Newcastle on two assisted living facilities. Their dedication and hard work have made a significant impact on the community. On Wednesday, 7th August, Joe and Blake took on a significant project at Dunelm. They undertook the challenging task of clearing an impressive 9 ton bags of garden waste, digging over borders, and pruning the shrubs. Their hard work transformed the area into a more pleasant and manageable space, showcasing their hands-on involvement and the tangible results of their work. The following week, on 14th August, the team took on another project at the Housing Group. They cleared high vegetation and stumps, picked up litter, and laid down bark with membrane. The transformation was incredible, turning the area into a clean and inviting space. The before-and-after photos truly showcase the hard work and dedication of the team and the significant impact of their work on the community. Well done, Joe and Blake. Your commitment to going above and beyond for the contract is truly commendable. #CommunityHeroes #HomeGroup #Newcastle #TeamWork #MakingADifference

How is our tree canopy changing? From 2010 to 2017, we can observe significant loss of coverage. In Dane County, the Village of Brooklyn, Village of Belleville, Town of Primrose, City of Stoughton, and City of Monona have experienced canopy decreases of 30% or higher. Meanwhile, the City of Madison, Town of Primrose, Town of Perry, and Town of Vermont have lost the greatest total acres of canopy within the county. The land uses that experienced the largest percentage decrease in canopy coverage across the county were: 🏘️ Multi-family housing 🏠 Single-family and two-family residential areas 🌳 Recreational spaces You can learn more about our changing canopy and ways you can get involved to improve canopy coverage here: https://lnkd.in/gbZfyBCj

St. Thomas’ Church is one of the oldest churches within Montgomery County, dating back to 1698. The historic cemetery includes the graves of 12 veterans from the Revolutionary War. CVDA developed the master plan for the restoration of the approximately 42-acre site that included the sanctuary, historic supportive buildings including a school site, the historic cemetery, nature preserve, and community garden. One of the key challenges was upgrading the antiquated circulation and parking system to be ADA compliant while maintaining and enhancing the historic setting. The master plan improved site visibility of the sanctuary, accessibility, and wayfinding; introduced stormwater infiltration in the parking lot; established a community garden and nature preserve; created new community athletic fields; and provided for overall landscape maintenance and restoration to enhance the historic setting of the church property. The first phase included the development of a new main entrance that improved safety, stormwater management and wayfinding. #historicchurches #masterplan #wayfinding #stormwatermanagement

Business coach & strategic planner for social justice leaders | Listen to my podcasts | #Boundaries #HumanGiverSyndrome #FreePalestine
Just one example of what community can look like. For all of us who were trained to go it alone, told that "bootstrapping" is admirable, praised for our individualistic systems, and high-fived for not needing anybody else in order to "succeed," this is for us. What could be possible if we train ourselves to look for, rely on, and join existing communities? If we built new communities out of necessity or as a last resort, instead of doing it to line our pockets or prove how great we are as individuals? Community can be hard, but it can also transform the formerly broken & hopeless into beautiful things and people. #Business #SocialJustice #Community https://lnkd.in/eQxZ5DRE

Candidate for Wisconsin State Assembly, District 41 Sustainability, Water, Design, Economic Development
The first phase (the big white building) resulted in over $13million in development, the basis of an adaptive reuse project for an 1880s building slated for demo, and now houses over 42 families. Excellent location. This is the full parcel, 8+ acres, (can also be split into 4 smaller parcels for various development). Yes, it is prime development in the second most historic city in Wisconsin, the gateway to the West--Prairie du Chien. Near the historic downtown, overlooking the Mississippi River a block away from connections to Iowa, those 8+ acres will make another prime neighborhood lasting for another century or more--because change and growing and adapting to the times makes for a thriving community--then and now. Check out River to Valley Initiatives for more information--the entire parcel is for sale, and is also split into 4 perfect parcels for further development. #wisconsinrealestate #PrairieduChienRealestate
