IEA - Interscholastic Equestrian Association’s Post

Riding horses is a dream come true for many young people. However, for some families, a little help may be needed in making that dream a reality! The IEA - Interscholastic Equestrian Association BENEVOLENT FUND aims to provide equitable access to equestrian sports through a Financial Assistance Program for young riders in grades 4-12 who need additional funding support to enable them to take lessons and compete in the IEA addressing the need or inclusion and equal opportunity in the equestrian community. Financial Aid provides support for membership fees, monthly riding lessons, 5 shows of entry fees, plus potential travel money and entries for post-season finals. The Benevolent Fund also provides emergency funding for IEA coaches battling an unexpected event that impedes their ability to work such as illness, accidents, barn fires, natural disasters, and other tragedies that translate into a loss of personal business income. This season the IEA saw a 66% increase in the number of financial aid applications received to help young riders. Financial Aid is limited to $1,895 per approved-rider request and $1,000 is the Coaches Assistance Grant cap. A total of 43 riders received either full or partial aid.
