Doctoral Candidate & '24-25 Public Scholar at Concordia University | Zero Waste & Circular Economy | Open Data | AI | IoT | Pro-environmental Behavior | Public Policy | Smart Cities
"If there ever was a time when scholars and researchers could focus on things with no political implications and no ideological backdrop, that time is far past. It probably never existed. Threats to democracy, free expression, and the existence of academic spaces are embedded in the new technologies we face. More importantly, these freedoms are being actively targeted and weakened by these technologies and by those who claim that science should (and can be) value-free. Making more space for acknowledging who we are and where we come from is as important as the science that we create. We must be able to tell our stories and be ourselves, or the technologies that we develop will continue to serve the very few while harming those with the least power in society."
Here is my first editorial as EIC. https://lnkd.in/eh-FzsUd So many people helped me get here. Thank you, always, to Mitchell Small Engineering and Public Policy (EPP) MS Program, Carnegie Mellon University Heather Love Brandiff Caron and all the people who pointed my way to SSIT.

I'm excited to share that our research paper "Smart Contract: Tools and Challenges" was published at the IEEE IC-CGU 2024 conference. All thanks to my teammate Shruti Senapati, and the valuable help from our professors debani mishra sir and Rakesh Lenka sir. Our research looked at the security risks in smart contracts and ways to make them safer. You can have a look at the paper here - https://lnkd.in/dEyediqF

Ph.D. | NextG Wireless Communications and Networking | Semantic Communications | Resource Optimization | AI for Wireless
This was my first IEEE transaction publication during the Ph.D. study, which aimed to provide a fresh way of thinking about mathematically modeling SemCom-enabled wireless cellular networks (SC-Nets) and jointly optimizing the UA and BA with the awareness of knowledge matching degrees at all SemCom users. In fact, the idea of investigating SemCom from a networking perspective was quite vague in the community when we first released it online, and most SemCom-related works at that time were focused on its transceiver design. While a load of advanced research is now available, it is still worth noting that the specific resource management solutions in SC-Nets should not be the most important, but rather the proper definition for NextG semantic-level network performance. Semantic information theory may be the key to finding a unified measure. Overall, we are grateful for Shannon Wireless to re-highlight this work. #SemCom #ResourceOptimization #NextGWireless
This article investigates #semantic #communication (#SemCom) from a networking perspective, where two fundamental problems of #user #association (#UA) and #bandwidth #allocation (#BA) are systematically addressed in the #SemCom-#enabled #networks (#SC-#Nets). First, considering #varying #knowledge matching states between mobile users and associated base stations, we identify two general SC-Net scenarios, namely #perfect #knowledge #matching-based SC-Net and imperfect knowledge matching-based SC-Net. Afterward, for each SC-Net scenario, the authors describe its #distinctive #semantic #channel #model from the semantic information theory perspective, whereby a concept of #bit-#rate-#to-#message-#rate transformation is developed along with a new semantics-level metric, namely #system #throughput in #message (#STM), to measure the overall network performance. ----Le Xia, Yao SUN, Dusit Niyato, @Xiaoqian Li, Muhammad Ali Imran More details can be found at this link: https://lnkd.in/gYnpQncJ

🙂 Freshly published (#ieee access journal 📜) paper with Robert Hanhan, Marco Lanuzza, Adam (Adi) Teman, Leonid Yavits. We revisit and reevaluate the feasibility of implementing content-addressable memories (a.k.a associative memories) in computer microarchitecture. Additionally, we introduce a precharge-free CAM and a very-many-way associative cache architecture!
