With modern vehicles coming equipped with increasingly complex systems of cameras, sensors, displays and other connected technologies, it’s become crucial to ensure that data transfer capabilities are fast and reliable. Automotive ethernet is expected to be the optimal backbone of vehicle connectivity, providing increased efficiency at low latencies to handle larger data loads. Though automotive ethernet is not yet ready for widespread implementation, new amendments to #IEEE 802.3 are helping to some of its key challenges. This is so cool 🤸♀️ ! Really informative piece that talks about LVDT sensors, or linear variable differential transformers, that are widely used tools in metrology. They transform linear motion into electrical signals with high accuracy, making them essential in various industries. Consisting of coils wrapped around a core, LVDTs require an external energy source to operate. They offer advantages such as low energy consumption, consistent accuracy, and robustness due to their non-contact sensing element. LVDTs find applications in aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical, and electronics sectors, measuring displacements, force, weight, and pressure. Numerous suppliers, including AMETEK and #TEConnectivity, offer LVDTs for diverse industry needs.
