The Golden Records launched aboard the NASA Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft in 1977, aim to do just that. Over the course of a year, a specialized NASA committee curated a selection of natural sounds, greetings in multiple languages and musical compositions to be included in two identical phonographic records.
