📣 📣 Exciting News! Our journal paper "Uplink Performance Optimization of Limited-Capacity Radio Stripes" has been accepted for publication in the #IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. An Early Access version is already available in #IEEEXplore (https://lnkd.in/diaN7eCa). In this research paper we study the Cell-Free Massive MIMO fronthaul network deployment through the so-called radio stripes, under the assumption of finite-capacity links. Specifically, our main contributions include: 💡The derivation of the optimal MMSE-based combining matrices used for the uplink sequential signal detection. 💡The introduction of a heuristic radio stripe setup that allows for a larger number of embedded antenna elements per processing unit. 💡The proposition of a novel and user-centric Compare-and-Forward strategy that ensures a higher throughput and a lower service latency to the majority of the network users. 💡The derivation of the optimal compression noise covariance which, subject to the fronthaul capacity restriction, minimizes its trace, thus further mitigating the imperfect transmission effect. The paper is concluded with extensive numerical simulations and a discussion on the induced latency and complexity of all tested algorithms.

The concept of state-of-the-art smart grid test beds and the advanced laboratory infrastructures are discussed recently. Basanta Pokhrel has presented an article at the #UPEC2024 in Cardiff entitled "Advanced digital lab infrastructure for the development of smart power grid". The concept presented in this paper aims for the need of state of art digital power system laboratory to address research needs for modern power systems, which will support the digital and green transition. The solutions presented in this paper will sufficiently represent the complexity of the power system dynamics and provide a realistic environment to develop and test future digital power system operation.
