Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation (DRG) is a neuromodulation technique used to manage chronic pain by targeting the dorsal root ganglion, a cluster of nerve cell bodies located near the spine. This method involves implanting a small device that sends electrical impulses to the ganglion, disrupting pain signals before they reach the brain. DRG stimulation is particularly effective for conditions like complex regional pain syndrome and certain types of neuropathic pain. It offers a minimally invasive alternative to traditional pain management methods. Patients often experience significant pain relief and improved quality of life with this treatment. Hello connections!! Neurostimulation provides pain relief by disrupting the pain signals traveling between the spinal cord and the brain. In other words, it outsmarts your pain. therapies include invasive and noninvasive approaches that involve the application of electrical stimulation to drive neural function within a circuit Peripheral nerve stimulators can also provide pain relief for patients with chronic neuropathic pain who have contraindications to spinal cord stimulator placement and provide lasting relief without adverse effects of pain medications. vagal nerve stimulator (VNS) prevents seizures in patients with drug-refractory epilepsy by excitation of the left vagus nerve using high-frequency (20–30 Hz) electrical impulses, activating vagal nerve afferent fibers carrying signals to the brain thereby decreasing seizures. Each system has three major components: a pulse generator (a neurostimulator), a battery, and lead electrodes. There are three primary differences between each of the systems: Some systems implant the pulse generator in the body. Other systems place it outside the body. A transducer needle is used to access the target nerve. The ideal target of stimulation is approximately 1 cm away from the target nerve. A PNS electrode is introduced through the transducer needle and is ideally set parallel to the nerve. The battery source is connected to the proximal end of the electrode. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

🔊 TENS, NMES & PEMF - Understanding the difference! ⭐When it comes to therapeutic technologies like TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation), and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field), each serves distinct purposes in aiding recovery and pain management. ▶ TENS primarily targets pain relief by sending low-voltage electrical currents through the skin to nerves, aiming to disrupt or block pain signals. NMES, on the other hand, focuses on muscle rehabilitation and strengthening by stimulating muscle contractions through electrical currents. ▶ While both TENS and NMES offer valuable benefits in pain mitigation and muscle support, PEMF stands out as a holistic recovery modality. PEMF therapy works at a cellular level, emitting electromagnetic pulses that penetrate deep into tissues. It aids in promoting cellular repair, improving circulation, and reducing inflammation. Unlike TENS and NMES, which address specific areas or functions, PEMF has a broader scope, influencing the body's overall well-being and natural healing processes. ⭐ PEMF's advantage lies in its ability to target not only pain management but also cellular regeneration and overall systemic balance. Its non-invasive nature and capacity to reach deep tissues make it an effective tool for various conditions, including chronic pain, injuries, and even certain health conditions. ✅ In essence, while TENS and NMES are valuable for localized pain and muscle-related issues, PEMF emerges as a comprehensive modality that goes beyond symptomatic relief, offering a pathway to holistic recovery by stimulating the body's innate healing mechanisms. 📢 For more information on the Oska Pulse PEMF Therapy device, please contact: 📧 info@nexmedhealth.co.za 📧 info@eptrecovery.co.za 📧 info@athleticrecoverycentre.co.za #PainReliefTherapy #MuscleRecovery #HolisticWellness #PEMFHealing #NaturalHealing #CellularRegeneration #HealthTech #InjuryRehabilitation #WellnessJourney #PEMFTreatment

KEY POINTS from our Research Article of the Week: • Key differences were found in manual therapy frameworks for the 3 dominant pain mechanisms groups identified by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). • Similarities in frameworks included the emphasis on the importance of selecting a therapeutic manual therapy approach including interventions that are based on each patient’s unique presentation. • Both the highest-ranked nociplastic and neuropathic frameworks advocated for reconceptualizing one’s pain experience, creating a healing environment for the condition, and reducing fear and catastrophizing. Is Spinal Cord Stimulation under Attack Dr. Annu Navani, MD speaks on the controversial topic of spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation for chronic pain management. The presentation kicks off with a brief overview of neurostimulation's history, followed by an in-depth discussion on its global impact and usage. She brings to light striking statistics, such as the 1.4 billion people suffering from chronic pain worldwide, and its associated 60% mortality rate. The core of the controversy is then explored through recent studies and meta-analyses, scrutinizing the efficacy, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness of neurostimulation. Her lecture highlights key studies that both support and challenge the use of spinal cord stimulation, encouraging viewers to weigh the benefits against the risks and make informed decisions for their patients. 🌐🎥 Watch the full lecture at: https://lnkd.in/g6xCra2i Join PainCast Pro for unlimited access to exclusive videos and lectures from leading physicians.
