Interesting paper https://lnkd.in/eaPMyXsy focused on identifying and prioritizing the 10 crucial barriers identified in implementing #industry40 technologies in manufacturing organizations. Key findings indicated that barriers such as IT infrastructure, lack of cyber-physical systems, and improper communication models are the most dependent, while the lack of top management commitment was identified as the most driving barrier. Successfully implementing Industry 4.0 technologies requires concentrating on driving barriers to systematically control and eliminate the dependent barriers. #quantumtechnologies have the potential to address these barriers by enhancing computational power, securing data transmission, and optimizing supply chains. However, they also face similar challenges, particularly in terms of the need for specialized infrastructure and the gap in knowledge and training, underscoring a parallel journey in overcoming these hurdles for broader adoption. The transition of electrochemical sensors from lab-based measurements to field measurement requires to overcome several critical challenges including a reproducible fabrication procedure, stability, lifetime, and development of cost-effective sensor electronics. Adiraju et al. address these aspects exemplarily for a self-developed highly-sensitive nitrite sensor. They investigate sensor reproducibility and stability in complex media and develop a cost-effective wireless combining cyclic and square wave voltammetry, and EIS capabilities. The implemented methodology in this study builds a basis for the development of on-site distributed electrochemical sensor networks.
