Preparedness means making sure everyone in the household is ready for a #hurricane 🌀 or other disaster, including children. Ensuring that the young kids in the household are prepared can help make your emergency response smoother. Here are some tips to help your child #BePrepared in the face of an imminent storm: 📋 Review your household #emergencyplan using language the children will understand. 📞 Go over your communications plan and ensure that your kids know what to do if you get separated. 🎯 Perform practice drills as a family so children know how to respond in different scenarios, including for shelter at home 🏡 and #evacuations 🗺️. 📚 Use the FEMA Ready.gov Kids Resource Library to familiarize your child with emergency planning and preparedness.
