🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 After much contemplation and five long years, I've decided to embark on a new chapter in my career journey. This decision wasn't easy, but it's one that feels incredibly right at this moment. For the past few years, fear held me back from making this change. Fear of losing what I've built, fear of the unknown, and fear of starting anew. But I've come to realize that staying put wasn't aligned with my core values, my integrity, or my professional aspirations. I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined a new IMO where transparency, honesty, and integrity are paramount. I've found a place where I truly own my book of business, receive fair compensation for my hard work, and where my voice is heard and valued. This transition is not solely about myself; it's also about safeguarding my clients. With efficient processes and a strong emphasis on client relationships, I am committed to managing your policies with the highest level of care and attention, as I always have. I will contact my clients to reassure them that their existing policies are secure with the carriers and will initiate any necessary due diligence reviews without delay. The decision to leave my previous IMO was fueled by several factors: lack of transparency in compensation, unrealistic expectations for lead costs, and a disconnect in values and integrity. It's time for a fresh start where I can provide my clients with the service they deserve, free from unnecessary constraints and uncertainties. I'm grateful for the support and encouragement from those who've stood by me during this transition. Many people told me there was no real future in this field, but I didn't let that deter me. I was committed to proving them wrong and showing that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible. There were times when I felt overwhelmed, but my passion for insurance and belief in its potential kept me going. Just wanna share something about me. ✨ I was a scholar back in college, was a dean’s lister. I always aim to be the best version of myself because I really love challenges and competition. After I passed the board exam last 2019, I didn’t need to apply for a work since I was a scholar for that company. As a return of my service, I’ve worked for 3 years there. At first, I really enjoyed my work. But as time passes by, I started feeling stagnant, burned out— an empty shell. But still, I am forever grateful to my first job. After 2 years of working for that company, I started looking for a side hustle. There I started as a Part-time Financial Consultant in Pru Life UK. Even my friends couldn’t believe I joined this career ‘cause it really is out of my comfort zone. As an introvert, I really had to go out of my shell— since I felt stagnant on my prev job, I certainly look for growth— something new. And for me to grow, I need to do uncomfortable things. Thankfully, I found this career. A career that lets me grow as an individual & as a professional; A career that gives me time freedom, free travels, healthy work environment and has higher income potential. Through Pru Life UK, I was able to sustain 7 insurance policies (4 of those are my personal ones, 3 are for my parents). I consider these as one of the greatest gifts our parents could ever have. 😊 also, through this career, I was able to help not only my family but a lot of Filipino Families. Back in college, I was so focused on my own academic achievements. Everyone has their own struggle story, and I’d like to share mine. Read it till the end for a good news I'd like to share! 😁 I arrived in Canada as a student in the last week of December 2020. Like many international students, I enrolled in two different colleges and began working part-time in January 2021, starting my first job at Walmart. The struggle was real. From the very first day, I found myself continuously running in and out, filling car trunks with groceries. I had never imagined I’d be facing freezing temperatures and harsh weather conditions daily, but quitting wasn’t an option. My family was miles away, back home, and I was the first of them to venture into a different part of the world, hoping to grow and build a life on my own. That first year was the toughest. Every day brought new challenges, and I missed my family immensely. Homesickness weighed on me, and I often longed to return to the comfort of my home. But I had made this choice; I had chosen to pursue my dreams, and I knew I had to face whatever hardships came my way. Slowly, time passed, and I found myself growing stronger. Now, I’m on a work permit. In July 2023, I landed my first permanent job as an Insurance Advisor at Co-operators. I’ll be honest—I never saw myself in insurance. But I’m naturally talkative, someone who loves striking up conversations with strangers, so helping clients and guiding them to make the best choices gradually became enjoyable. Day by day, it felt a little easier. I was learning, adapting, and, in a way, thriving. Today, I received confirmation of my PR after 2.5 years. Looking back, I often think I haven’t struggled as much as some other students who have faced far worse. But I also learned a valuable lesson along the way: we often view our own struggles as the hardest. It’s easy to think others have it easier, but that’s rarely the case. By seeing our own challenges as smaller in comparison, we gain motivation and perspective. This mindset can make even the biggest struggles feel more manageable. Would I want my daughter to follow me into the insurance industry? Honestly, I'm not sure. When a colleague asked me this, it made me reflect on my journey. The insurance industry isn't exactly the most popular career choice—it’s often misunderstood. But for me, it’s been more than just a job. It’s given me the financial freedom and flexibility to spend precious time with my family. The question, though, isn’t whether I’d want her to join my business. It’s whether I’ve given her the clarity and confidence to choose her own path—whatever that may be. I’ve realised that my career isn’t the legacy I leave behind; it’s a tool to build the life I want for my family. My legacy is my family. And I want my daughter to have the same freedom to design her life, with or without the insurance industry. How about you—have you thought about what legacy you’re building? What an honour it has been to wrap up my 34 year career by spending the last 5 years of it with the Ardonagh Group. As a world leading and progressive company, it enabled me to finally satisfy my ambitions, by leading as their group-wide CISO. I was always free to do this with authenticity and creativity, and I was able to devise and deliver a successful strategy, alongside growing an amazing security team that possessed exceptional talent and humility. I just want to thank all of my team members, past & present, (you know who you are!) and say that I’m immensely proud of all your hard-work and achievements - then, now, and yet to come. I will have many fond memories of my team, and of my own leaders and other colleagues. I will also have many fond memories of Aviva too, where prior to Ardonagh, I had spent the bulk of my career, and where I made some of the best friends of my life so far. I ‘retire’ early now from this long career with much to be thankful for; it has afforded me the ability to embark on new life adventures, exploring some of my life passions, namely Art, travel, and maybe one day, perhaps helping others through Psychotherapy.  So many people have been surprised to hear I’m ‘retiring’ (I do wish there was a better word for it!?) and many have asked me why?…well, my reflections are this:- Somewhere along the way, perhaps after certain life events, some of us MAY come to feel we are giving up too much ‘life time’ - unconsciously trading it for a constant daily grind. We are so busy ‘doing’ that we may perhaps lose some of the playfulness and excitement we once had, along with the desire and freedom to be more joyful in life; weighed down a bit by an invisible need to be there for others, or to prove ourselves to that World around us. We may unconsciously start to feel we have a narrow purpose in life, and with it, a false notion that if we stop doing this thing we are doing…then we may have no purpose at all. But none of that is true of course. In chasing success and validation in the World, it’s easy to overlook the very essence of living; moments that bring us peace, happiness, connection, wonder and fulfilment. We can potentially miss out on experiences that will help us expand further beyond what we’ve known so far. When we decide the time is right, we can choose to stop, change direction, and reconnect with what matters to us now. In doing this, we might just find that another ‘best version’ of ourselves has been waiting to be discovered all along… So for me, it was time to seize an opportunity to make some space and live life more 'lightly'...We may all find ourselves here one day and if you do, all I'll say is welcome that feeling with open arms, get excited again and enjoy every minute! I wish all those I've come to know the best of everything - thank you for all the trust, inspiration, support, conversations, guidance, laughter and memories along the way. It was an honour to spend time with every one of you. 

Me, point A: Craving more, 4 role changes in 2 ½ years.  Me, point B: Thriving, 1 role doubling my satisfaction. (And how I went from A to B) I always had big dreams and goals for my career. But as I thought about my future in insurance…  I would often feel a massive void at times. My thoughts circled on: → “Is this really it for me?” → “Where did my joy to wake up go?”  → “Am I truly making a difference here?” → “Should I be considering something else?”  → “I’m doing everything right… why do I feel this way? It got to the point where I was deeply unfulfilled.  So much that it had me: • Chasing. • Doubting my path. • Going after title after title. • Not enjoying my day-to-day work. • Feeling less and less motivated to show up. Can you relate to this? That was nearly 3 years of my insurance career. The same cycle repeating itself, over and over.   And trust me, 3 years being stuck is too long when you’re ambitious. So how did I get past it? [1] Emphasis on aligning my career. I used more of my time: • Understanding my strengths. • Redefining standards of success. • Identifying an aligned with confidence. The pieces of the puzzle came together like magic. [2] Overhauling my brand. No longer sitting back, I focused on: • Identifying my assets. • Carving out my unique brand.  • Attracting the right opportunities. I created a brand that left a lasting impression. The best part? I landed my first dream role in the industry. And I did it with ease. (Rinse, repeat).  Now, I’m helping others do the same. Ready to start your career transformation? One good thing about starting the new year metaphorically, or literally, is it is a new beginning. We all start with a clean slate, all is forgotten, well maybe not all, but we can approach the new year with optimism and believing we can have a great year. No matter what. Everyone in sales starts from zero again, and if you had a great year, you may wonder, how am I going to do that again? And if not, maybe it won’t be too hard to improve over last year. I’m not a big new year resolutions type guy, I think that is a personal decision. My philosophy is, if you need to make a change, you should recognize that and do something about it now. Good examples are doctor appointments, difficulties with relationships, a problem boss or coworker, consequently, your life, relationships and job, may depend on it. So, the notion of getting in shape, improving your health, learning a new skill, obtaining a new certification, is in your hands. If you make changes because you feel that is appropriate, go for it. Sometimes maintaining what your have, and building on that is sufficient. Keep in mind that 2024 is gone, and perhaps reflecting on what you did right, then building on those good vibes to start strong is the place to start. If you have decided you are ready to make a job change, then take steps to start the process. That might be updating your resume, starting to network with former colleagues, or coworkers, and planning to put together a list of companies you’d like to work with. Making decisions, and having clarity is what this time of year is about.
